Howard Stern To Replace Simon Cowell On Idol!?!

Posted on Fri Feb 5, 2010 08:15 AM PDT

Sources say that shock jock Howard Stern may be the first in line to replace Simon Cowell when the Brit bad boy leaves American Idol at the end of this season.

This is either the best idea or the worst idea ever.

An Idol insider tells Page Six that Stern, Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January, is their first choice to fill the role.

"They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants," says the source. "Idol will do what it takes to sign him."

But the insider also notes that Stern may not be ready to leave radio -- not to mention New York -- to travel around the country for auditions and spend several months out of the year in Los Angeles. Plus, Idol bosses may not be able to compete with a Sirius XM offer, should it come in. (Simon makes $50 mil a year, while Howard takes in double that.)

"I was approached by a major TV network to take over a TV show and leave here and do that next year -- and I did turn it down," said Stern on a recent radio show. "I'm not even sure if I want to be working. I'm waiting to see what happens."

Do YOU think Howard would make a good replacement?

He's the best suggestion I've heard so far, but even though he is a DJ, he's not exactly an expert in the music biz!

Recently my friend told a place searchrichsingles.com. it is very interesting, in that which you can know a lot of millionaires, you can even find the other half of your life

Don't care, still won't watch it.
Then you will have not one but two people with no music experience judging people's music talent.
WTF?

ba-ba-booey! AWESOME if Howard Stern were to replace Cowell on "American Idol". The show could use a breath of fresh air and Mr. Stern would certainly be able to provide it...

LOL That would be GREAT!

This moron has so many phobias that it wouldn't be able to handle it. Also, what makes him an expert on finding singing talent. Oh what, he listens to the radio...yeah that makes him a real good candidate.

What idiot thought this one up.
Only NBC's Zucker could think of this.
Does FOX have a Zucker on the payroll and a deathwish.

First degenerate now this.

This show will be off the air w/in a year or two. Not because of Howard. It's just not good anymore...kinda boring. Simon probably realizes it's going down hill and that's why he's getting the hell out to start a new show.

Howard Stern would be great! The show needs a good, strong critic, and Howard will dish it out better then Simon ever could. Howard is great at interviewing guests and making small talk, that's what his good at!

He may not have a lot of experience in the music industry, but don't forget, the judges only decide in the opening stages where the line between talented and untalented is fairly clear. After that, America votes on who they think is best. Basically, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to tell a tonedef hick apart from the next Fantasia.

Go Howard!!!

thats terrible for a family show, he's disgusting and vile

NO WAY. PPL WHO'RE ARE SAYING YES, ARE JUST LIKE HIM. IDIOTS WITH OTHER WORDS

SIMON 'S head its getting bigger than this AMERICAN .IDOL show '''''
THATS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MATH AND I TRULY AGREE WITH PPL AT FOX ;'''IS TIME 4 CHANGE

Posted by: Anonymous

American Idol is getting desperate. Howard Stern has nothing to do with music industry. Ellen was a terrible choice already. Now Howard Stern. Pretty soon they will replace all the judges with people who have no experience in music industry what so ever.

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
