We all know him as the cruel and callous judge from American Idol - but is Simon hiding a softer side underneath that sarcastic veneer?
Well, in addition to pledging over $180 Million to charity after his death, Simon has decided to give $162,000 to an American family in need - right now!
Simon promised to be 3-year-old Amy Stoen's "guardian angel" yesterday on the Oprah show, after finding out what her family had to go through just to get treatment for her very aggressive cancer.
Simon's donation will pay off the Stoen's mortgage, which the couple was having trouble keeping up with after having to cut back on their work to care for their young daughter.
Who knew this sourpuss was such a sweetie?
