Star Jones Undergoes Cardiac Surgery

starsurgery.jpgStar Jones underwent cardiac surgery Wednesday at a New York hospital as a follow-up to an operation she had years ago to remove a thoracic tumor.

Her rep confirmed the planned surgery and explained it was related to cardiac surgery she had 30 years ago. "The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers," the former View co-host's publicist told People.

Jones will celebrate her 48th birthday this Wednesday.



Jones had gastric bypass surgery in August 2003 and subsequently lost 160 pounds.
