Spielberg Pulls Out of Olympics, Sides With Sudanese Rebels
Posted on Wed Feb 13, 2008 09:44 AM PDT

Having previously be put on notice by actress/activist Mia Farrow for his involvement as an artistic advisor to China's Olympics (she publicly warned him about becoming the "Leni Riefenstahl" of the Beijing Games), Steven Spielberg has decided to pull out in protest over China's support of the corrupt Sudanese government.
In a statement released yesterday, Spielberg cited the escalating violence in the region for his decision, saying "I find that my conscience will not allow me to continue with business as usual."
Bye, bye, Beijing!
