Feet can be washed, that is not the problem.
The problem is that kid has no coat and no shoes and is not allowed to walk a bit freely. She looks like a depressed emprissoned princess rather than like a happy child.

You pick on this mother and child only because you assume things based on photographs. You know damn well that she can walk - who cares if her mother chooses to carry her? Jennifer Garner carries her daughter and she is 4, Suri is only 2. There is nothing wrong with a 2 year old being carried - they tend to wander and get into everything when they are in stores. It is easier to get in and get out of places that way if it isn't playtime.

And when my kid was of that age, everything was playtime. You do not carry a kid around like a bag because that suits you better. being mother is a fulltime situation and can be made very playful with kids of that age. katie is not doing well and it shows in much too much pics. Violet radiates happiness, that is the boggest difference with what everyone sees more than is good: Suri looks like a very sad, unhappy child and is never shown in occasions where SHE can behave like her age.
There is a very big difference in the frequency of what we see of this from Suri and the occasional sad mood of any other celeb kid. Suri is NOT happy.

Katie holmes or cruise whatever is so phony these day i really dont like her anymore. Katie acts inconsistently because she is confused. She isn't being herself. She is trying to keep up to Tom and trying to be what Tom wants her to be. Katie is a goof ball, kind of stupid girl. Tom has an impression of her that isn't real. So she is trying to be what he wants. I'm sure it isn't easy to be married to Tom. And Nicole Kidman is a hard act to follow. Nicole is a high-caliber gal. Katie...not so much. I feel sorry for her a little bit, but she seems to radiate when she's around Tom. And to 2:36PM I am also the mother of a two year old, and I have to say that not everything is treated as playtime. If I have to run to the store, or something similar to that I run in CARRYING my daughter, I do what I have to do and get out. I have seen many photos of Suri smiling, and I have seen many photos of her not smiling - I don't see how that can mean that she is an unhappy child. I don't know her, so I don't know what the story is, neither do you.

So many parents feel their kids must wear shoes when they are away someplace. My girls only wear shoes (flipflops) during the summer when they go to Walmart (foot-police at the door and they are getting too old to ride in the cart) or when the parking lot is too warm for their feet, any other time they are barefoot.

I am sure Suri prefers to have her shoes off, I know my girls do (10yo and 13yo).
