Only a fool would presume a beggar is "homeless", - or, if he actually is, that he's not just a bum who's not wanting to work. Give your money to people you KNOW and who actually need it for verifiable reasons. Supporting someone else's chosen addiction isn't society's obligation. Give a hand, not a hand-out.

Why is it Sly's responsibility to hand out money to anyone on the street that just asks for some?

That homeless person could easily walk into mcdonalds or somewhere and get a job...and plus if he would have given any cash out, I'm sure he would have been criticized for how much/little...plus, maybe he didn't have anything but cards...

Why should he give him money? Instead, he can donate to legitimate charities, and this man, if he is in need, can apply to them for assistance. Otherwise, he might use the money for drugs or alcohol.

Some places warn people from donating to beggars because some people actually make a good living asking for handouts. Hey, it beats working.

So, if you don't know who and why, keep your money for something real and useful. Anyway, no one is under any obligation to give and give and give. You are free to make your choices where you will donate, and somebody like stupid x17 can mind their own business. Oh, right, that won't happen. So, x17, how much do you donate to charity every year? Show us, and show us your tax returns?

I never, ever give money to people on the street. One time I gave a guy a couple of dollars as I was going into a store and he followed me in and went straight to the beer case and bought a 40 ounce. I vowed to never do it again. Also, living here in Houston I have seen to many times those "beggers" leave their spot and get into a car MUCH better than I drive and go home for the day. Those people live off of suckers who give them money!

Listen, alot of those beggars make more money from panhandling than they ever could from working at McDonald's. And yeah, you better believe that at least some of them make their living from the money they get from begging! As for me, the only homeless people I give money to are war veterans, as my own brother is a war veteran too, so.
