As I said, I myself am a black women. I am also very much involved in politics, specifially race and health. Fortunately, I was raised in a very diverse community. As far as slavery goes - many native black Africans engaged in enslaving others of different tribes. Black Africans sold other black Africans for money, power and land in Africa and other countries with negro populations. Research the history before you go blaming one race/skin color for all your ancestors - i.e. not your - issues.

If you don't believe me - look at what is going on in Africa now. They are almost always taken to other countries where they are not likely to speak the native language, don't know the customs or laws and don't know and/or can't find anyone to help them. Slavery is perpetrated on every race and has been engaged in by every race. If you believe that slavery of blacks by whites in the Americas is more significant and deserves more attention because it was in your old junior high and high school history books - then you are as ignorant as the intelligent black woman from earlier stated. By the way - ignorant does not mean stupid - it means uninformed. You have the right to your opinion - thats one right being an African-AMERICAN allows you to take advantage of.
