Taylor Swift To Raise Money For Tornado Victims
Posted on Fri May 6, 2011 02:10 PM PDT
Taylor Swift has such a big heart!
The country songstress is gearing up to raise money for the victims of last week's devastating tornadoes in Tuscaloosa, AL, by offering up 13,00 tickets for her final Speak Now dress rehearsal on May 21.
More than 300 people were killed in the natural disaster, and all proceeds will go to the victims' families.
Swift expressed in a statement on her website:
- "I was watching the coverage of the tornadoes backstage at rehearsals, and I wanted to do something for the families affected by the damage. I've never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the Speak Now tour would be a great way to raise money. We will probably still be doing some fine-tuning to the show that night, since this will be a true rehearsal, but I feel like it is so important for me and my fans to help if we can."
The Speak Now tour officially kicks off on May 27, in Omaha, Neraska.
Swift has also made donations to relief efforts following disasters in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. We love when stars give back!
