Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham Gives Up Her Daugther
Posted on Thu Sep 15, 2011 03:10 PM PDT
Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is known for being tough, often making seemingly selfish decisions or fighting back with her parents on the MTV reality show.
But now she's made her most controversial move ever -- Farrah gave up her two-year-old daughter Sophia, at least for the time being.
The Council Bluffs, Iowa-native has been seen traveling the country during this season of Teen Mom, looking at potential schools and apartments in California, Arizona and Florida. On Tuesday's episode, Farrah struggled with the idea of moving to the Sunshine State to study, sobbing, "I would never leave [my daughter]."
But according to Life & Style, Farrah did.
The reality star has been studying in Fort Lauderdale for a few months now and did leave Sophia with her mother Debra Danielson back in Council Bluffs. She told the mag:
- “I want her [Sophia’s grandmother] to be there for Sophia when I need to take care of my responsibilities, my education and earning an income for both of us.”
Do you think Farrah made the right decision or that she's being selfish?

That's the best thing for her daughter. There is no way that she could go to school and pay a babysitter, especially since she's had free childcare from her parents since her daughter was born.
I can't believe Debra won.
Debra is a manipulative bitch.
Farrah get your daughter back, your mother is a psycho.
your daughter should be with you, not with crazy Debra
I can't believe Debra got to you Farrah!!!!!
Get her back before its too later
Debra thinks Sofia is hers but Sofia is your daughter and should be with you.
I feel bad for Farrah. Her parents are always suffocating her and never let her be
That family dynamic sort of reminds me of the Anthony's.
As a mom I could never be away from my baby, but it seems like Sophias best interest to be with the grandparents who truly love her.
What a minute...every time that I have watched this show Farrah is rude to her parents and very selfish. Her parents have been there for her from the very beginning....Farrah has been very lucky to have her parents there to help her out...so now she decides to leave little Sophie with grandma and grandpa when it suits Farrah...she is in for a rude awakening. Yes, school is important but does she have to go all the way to Florida???
Geeze the headline makes it seem like she gave her up for adoption! or to total strangers. The baby is only staying with the grandma temporarily while farrah finishes school.
WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's being selfish, as usual. I'm all for bettering oneself but Farrah's rationale for uprooting Sophia and moving to FL was the climate. Clearly, Farrah's concern is for her own best interest. Her predicaments are of her own doing and completely unnecessary. I have no sympathy for her whatsoever. Sophia, on the other hand, is the one that loses here and for her, I'm sad.
I would never, never, never, never leave my kids for anything. It is such a short time that they are little; she should've waited until her little one was in school. Then she could've gone to school while her daughter went too. Lots of single moms finish their education without leaving their kids. Sounds like a very selfish decision. Hopefully her parents are stable people for the sake of the granddaughter.
She took the right decision, she needs to go to college in order to provide for herself and for her daughter. She is very lucky to have her mom's support through this. Would it be better if she had a crappy job like being a clerk at Walmart?? She has ambition for herself and her kid. Good for her!
Farrah made the best decision to go finish school and to leave Sophia with her mom. In the long run this will all pay off and Mom and Baby will be back together again. Not a selfish move at all.
i saw this magazine yesterday night but didint get a chance to read it...gosh they mad it seem like she gave her baby away for adoption....thats what i was thinking at first...gosh i hate when people do that...and why is it an requirment to push yes if ur a human? like wtf? if we wernt human we wouldnt be able to type or anything...gosh people gets on my nervers
um so they know its not a computer... :)
I would never leave my sons behind. i'm a teen mother as well, yes its hard. but if you are able to have sex, than you are able to suck it up and be a parent. yes, going to school is hard (college), but if you have a child you will be able to handle it.
everything is hard with a child or two, but does not mean anyone cant do it.
SORRY TO SAY SHE DUMB BUT THEN AGAIN THATS UP TO HER I MEAN U CAN B A MOM GO TO SCHOOL AND WORK IF SHE NEEDED HELP THEN SHE SHLDNT OF HAD KIDS I HAVE TO CHILDREN AND I DO IT ON MY OWN MY MOTHER HAD 4 CHILDREN AND SHE DID IT ON HER OWN ASWELL IT JUS SHOWS SHE AINT A STRONG WOMAN SHE STILL A CHILD
Farrah made the right decision for herself. This is selfish to some, and acceptable to some. Personally, I support Farrah. She left her dauighter with her mother, not perfect strangers! Let's be realistic. She had a baby as a teenager. If someone is willing to help who better than you're mom?! Farrah has a lot of ambition to better her life so she can better Sophia's life..what is so wrong with that!?
