Rick Sanchez Let Go From CNN After Controversial Comments
Posted on Sat Oct 2, 2010 08:52 AM PDT
After CNN anchor Rick Sanchez appeared on the Stand Up! with Pete Dominick SiriusXM radio show on Friday and commented that Jon Stewart was "a bigot" and that CNN was "run by Jews," the news network issued a statement announcing that he has been let go from his position. “Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company," the statement read. "We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“
Sanchez said there's racism in the media "not just [from] the right," but also "elite, Northeast establishment liberals" that "deep down, when they look at a guy like me, they see a guy automatically who belongs in the second tier, and not the top tier."
Stewart had no comment on the story, but insider tells The Hollywood Reporter he may discuss it on The Daily Show on Monday. Do you think Sanchez should have been let go for his statements?
