Survivor Winner Richard Hatch Back In Jail
Posted on Wed Aug 19, 2009 08:23 AM PDT
There's a lot of new drama for a former reality star today!
Just hours after giving an interview to NBC's Matt Lauer, Survivor winner Richard Hatch was put back behind bars.
Hatch had been serving house arrest at his sister's home after nearly four years behind bars for failing to pay taxes on the $1 million he won on Survivor.
In the interview which aired on the Today show Tuesday, Hatch said he felt he had been targeted because he is gay and accused prosecutors of misconduct. The interview had been approved by prison officials.
It's not clear why Hatch was taken back into custody. Speaking to Lauer on Wednesday morning, Hatch's attorney said she didn't know if Richard's accusations were the reason he was put back in jail.
"I really don't know, everything Rich said is public record," the attorney said.

it's getting ridiculous...
4 years for not paying taxes? And a wife beater gets off with a restraining order. Now that makes sense...what's wrong withi this world.
Hahahahaha
So much homophobia from all the breeders here that it makes me sick.
Sheriff Jim Cummings is afraid to just let Hatch have the Freedom of Speech. Now in jail they can monitor the calls...Media get the story and just let Hatch talk. Something is very FISHY with the cops and prosecutor.
4 years for tax evasion on a million bucks????? Something is way wrong with this system. Let the guy work and pay the Feds than sitting around!
