X17 XCLUSIVE - ABC Denies Being Involved with The Bachelor Security Smackdown

bachelorarrested022710_06-full.jpg
The Mesnicks are now a happily married couple, but the drama that happened outside The Bachelor wedding is anything but a happy ending.

X17online has XCLUSIVE video of two photographers being arrested by security guards outside of the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes on Saturday. You can see how physically aggressive a couple of the security guards were with photographers -- all in the name of citizens' arrests!

An ABC executive denies involvement saying, "The network did not hire the security." We were then referred to call Warner Horizon Television and Next Entertainment. Warner Horizon tells us that they did not hire the security either. Next Entertainment could not be reached for comment.

Here is what Maximiliano Lopes, one of the photographers who was arrested, tells X17online, exclusively, about the incident:

"We parked the car on PCH...up the hill. There was a sign that says public trail. I was told that beyond the trees, it's private property for the hotel. We stayed behind the trees. Security told us to keep moving, so we did. Then the supervisor showed up and everything got crazy! He said this is private property and you're trespassing. You're under arrest. I said what are you doing? They then handcuffed two of us and took us from the public property to inside the resort. That's where police were called to officially arrest us."

Lopes says he has back pain as a result of the rough treatment he received from the security guards and he's considering legal action.

So just why were the photographers arrested anyway and for what were they cited?

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Whitmore tells us:

"The security guards at the resort insisted that we put them under citizen's arrest. The photographers said it was public property, but the guards said it was private resort property."

Whitmore says that the officers spoke to witnesses who corroborated the security guards' stories. The photographers were then booked and cited for penal code 647cPC - blocking a public walkway. Eric Brogmus was cited for the same, in addition to penal code 242cPC for battery.

The Terranea Resort tells us that they're security team had nothing to do with the incident saying "It was all them", referring to The Bachelor's production team.

Speaking of production ... take a close look at the video again. You'll see that when the camera pans to the area where the wedding is set to take place, there are cameras shooting the incident from the property. Hmmm...will this incident appear as part of the televised wedding on ABC on March 8th? You know how it goes...where there's drama, there are ratings.

As for the photographers, they believe they're innocent. Lopes tells X17online a lawsuit is in the works. A court date has been scheduled for March 28th.

So who do you believe...the photographers or the security guards?

Security should use mace, then kick the shitz out of them, then shove them into a 50 gallon drum upside down.

The Photographers will make a KILLING on this incident. Security will be held responsible for Kidnapping and Assault and Battery. HUGE settlement!

I am not a fan of all these photographers but I am even less of a fan of these reality show producers who think they are so f*cki*g important. Get over yourself. You produce a show that highlights a bunch of no name nobody's to an audience of sheep that don't give 2 sh*ts about these people the moment they are off the air.

I hope these photogs make a bundle.

3 words....rent a cop.

You have your Private vs. Public all in a bunch. Try this on for size: The trail is actually an easement that the hotel was forced to provide for the public access to the beach. It is private property, maintained for the public egress and ingress in order to reach the beach which is public/state lands. As such, the trail itself is fully under the protection of the resort and the security guards have the responsibility of ensuring that it is used exactly as intended. No commercialization or enterprise may be done on the trail, no picnics, no public recreation other than getting to and from the beach or the scenic vista that involves the BEACH. Not for weddings, not to spy on people at the resort, not for photographing for profit of others.
Just like on the beach, when the photogs gather and cause any blockage of the public right of way they can be forced to move or they get arrested.
Thank you Coastal Commission for the latest trouble on the coast at your behest, no enforcement or monitoring but the CCC is always there to squeeze something from landowners that they then pretend is "public" when in actuality they shy from any such ownership and liabilities that ensue. The liabilities they leave with the homeowner which is why there are such battles over public access still remaining in CA.

TOTALLY staged by the producers!!!! Who the hell are they to deny they were involved. The so-called security was definitely hired by ABC through a rep so it wouldn't be tied directly to the show. You can bet this WAS part of the spectacle and will be on the show.

BS!!! This was all part of the show. Those aren't real security guards, they're actors hired by ABC. Prove me wrong. You can't.

I live in Rancho Palos Verdes and know that the resort has no jurisdiction over the public pathways. This was all a bunch of malarky dreamt up by the producers to bring drama to an otherwise boring, mundane show. Pathetic attempt to make Terranea Resort look bad even after the resort undoubtedly had to deal with all the arrogance and ridiculous demands of the show's producers.

Posted by: Anonymous

I can tell you in no uncertain terms those so-called security guys are NOT resort employees.

Posted by: Anonymous

Where are the reports about the show's producers getting drunk at the resort's bars and walking around the hotel in their underwear? Now, THAT'S entertainment!

Paparrazi look and act like the cockroaches that they are....

"Next Entertainment could not be reached for comment."
End of story.

X17s copy writers are as illiterate as their paps...they should try reading before they print. The correct word is their not they're which means "they are" The Terranea Resort tells us that they're security team. just another indication of the morons that get hired by X17.

Deport all of them!

I hope the security guards get arrested for assault and kidnapping and tied back to ABC. If the land is public, the photographers have legal right to take pictures. Pity none of the photographers were armed.

Lets remember the photographers were NOT ever even charged with TRESPASS. Just specious violation of a loitering law. By the way only the owner of the property can charge anyone with tresspass certinally not a guest (ABC) or their agents (O&R) security.

This part is optional!
