Posted on Fri Apr 8, 2011 10:35 AM PDT
Naomi Judd and her daughter Wynonna are opening up about sexual abuse they both suffered as children.
While on The View, Naomi, 65, recalls the abuser. She tells the ladies:
- "I rebuffed him, and it happened twice more. I knocked him away. I never said anything to anybody."
The Judds will be debuting their new series on The Oprah Winfrey Network this Sunday. When asked how they handled the topic on the show, Wynona, who also admits to being abused, says:
- "I was a little resentful that the cameras were on. But we're willing to step out on faith and hope that it helps someone else to tell someone because there is a lot of shame and secrecy."
In her book, "All That Is Bitter and Sweet," younger sister Ashley Judd discussed being sexually abused as a young girl.
Find out the name of Wynona's upcoming book in which she goes into detail about her abusive past ... after the jump.
Wynona's book will be called "Coming Home to Myself."
