Mel Gibson Comes To Tiger Woods' Defense

Posted on Mon Jan 11, 2010 09:27 AM PDT

In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Mel Gibson stands up for Tiger Woods, expressing his sympathy for the pro golfer!

"I feel sorry for Tiger Woods," he says. "Why are we talking about this when we're sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan? You've got this history-changing event going on and we're talking about Tiger's private life and golf injuries. He's being used as a diversion and it just drives me crazy. You come out savaged. I just think, 'Who cares?'"

Okay, so Mel definitely has a point, but shouldn't he say something about Elin too? I think she's the one people have more sympathy for! So what did Mel have to say about cheating? "Nobody is without sin," he says. "You have to try to make amends if you can. You have to shut up and move on and not whine about it. And you have to deal with it like a man ... Whatever fallout comes from it, be it fair or unfair, you've just got to accept your own culpability. The minute you start whining, it's ridiculous."

So what about his own mess of a marriage? "When all's said and done I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage. I'm to blame, if you're inclined to judge," Mel says.

Do you agree with Mel?

We're on the fence on this one!

Who cares! I found a datingsite ((( S e e k i n g R i c h。c 0 m )))) last week. The best datingclub for seeking the richsingles, sexy beauties. what's the most important is that you don't have to be a milllionaire, but you can meet one. Charlie Sheen found his true love on that site in 2007.

Mel G. STFU!! You are a total loser and a mess!

Mel just wants a companion, like himself. Poor pathetic no morals losers Mel and Tiger!

Maybe Mel wants Tiger-gay!

He makes a lot of sense actually. I absolutely don't feel one bit of remorse for Tiger. He made his own damn bed, now he can lay in it. BUT, instead of sitting on our asses talking about peoples personal lives (that we don't even know), we should be worrying about the shitty shape our country is in and our boys going to war.

x17 you`re so fake. one minute you`re talking shit about Tiger then the next minute you`re supporting someone who says who cares. MAKE UP YOUR MIND.

GET OUT OF TIGER and ELIN WOODS' PRIVATE BUSINESS!! They aren't reality show contestants, and their lives are not our favorite soap opera. The public and the media were NOT invited to Tiger and Elin's wedding, and they haven't been invited to keep sticking their noses into Tiger and Elin's marriage. Whatever Tiger does or does NOT do, it's none of our business. Tiger isn't married to the public, he only has 1 wife. What happens between Tiger and his wife is their business, not the whole worlds' business. You guys need to go persecute someone else now and leave Elin and Tiger alone.

I agree with 9:47. I dont hear him say he's conding Tiger's actions or cheating at all. I hear him take ownership and telling who cheat to take the consequences, make it right if you can, and dont play the victim (whine about it). BUT I do think most celebs and shows, tabloids, etc. who are offering opinions on this and debating it with so called experts are capitalizing on it bigtime and most likely couldnt care less about the real family and lives involved...even the children.

go Mel. right on.

@Fed Upon Anon...I do agree with you about privacy but the reason fans and many of the public are upset and have a right to be is because they feeled betrayed and duped by someone they came to respect highly and trust to invest thier time and money in through watching him play and or buying the products he endorsed. Not to mention his young fans who were led to believe in a false image of him for the sake of profit by him and those businesses connected to him. Right or wrong, fair or not, they have a right to be disappointed and he's smart enough to know he must make amends to his fans and other players to come back sucessfully. Just something to think about.

Gotta love Mel.
GReatn guy.

Mel needs to shot his gob. He's done a hell of a lot more than just mess up his marriage. Why is he using Tiger's situation to get his name out in the press again? Worry about your own life, mistakes and sins Mel. He still has a holier than thou attitude it's so obvious.

I agree with Mel 100%. Unfortunately magazine covers that depict US sending 30,000 more troops over seas, just doesn't sale like how many women (or men...haha) Tiger has slept with. I think people look for validity in some of the wrong doings celebs do. Also - admitting your mistakes doesn't necessarily make you a better person. It's the lessons you take with you to avoid the same future mistakes that does.

Posted by: Keeping it in perspective.

Mel's mistakes have been public for all the world to see and he's the first to admit it. I need to commend him for that. How many of us would want to go through what he's gone through....fame and fortunes aside? For him to want to help Tiger is a good thing.

Being a celebrity and having your dirty laundry on display for the entire world can be humiliating. I believe he means well here. He did a great job trying to help B. Spears. I think he's just trying to help Tiger as well. I don't see him diminishing Elin's pain. I think he is just saying that Tiger has paid/is paying for his stupidity.

By the way....it went highly unreported that soon after his DUI arrest Mel met privately with the cop that arrested him and apologized.

Not condoning his behavior....just saying that celebrities are just as human and frail as the rest of us. They just get paid a lot more than we do and have practically ZERO privacy. That's got to be back-breaking at some point.

How is the antics of a sex addict related in any way to soldiers going off to war? How do they even end up in the same thought?

I am saddened by how weird Mel Gibson is-such a talent, what a waste though...

whores stick together!

At 9:58 AM...Sugar tits? You MUST be related or very close to ol' Mel. That word apparently runs freely in his circle. Way to subordinate & objectify women needle dick.

It is impossible to judge someone until we have walked in that persons's shoes. Coming from a diverse family, with a father who cheated on his mother, Tiger had no role model to fashion his own behavior after. We know that abused children often become abusers. Also try to imagine living kind of life he had to live, without any peace when he was in public...All the money in the world doesn't make a person content, and Tiger was lost. I'm not defending him, he definitely did wrong, but I think some of you are too hard on someone you don't know anything about.

If Elin has a heart and mind big enough to stay with him for the sake of the children, who are we to judge?

We should be praying for their wisdom and peace in their future actions, not judging and denigrating them.

Lord knows, they need all the support and prayers they can possibly get.

Be kind.

Go MEL.

Mel just wants publicity and is taking advantage of Tiger's situation! Poor drunk cheater pathetic loser Mel!

Posted by: Anonymous

We spend too much time keeping track of gossip about athletes, movie stars, and rock stars. Our government wants us to be dumbed-down that way so we don't notice how they are screwing us. Maybe that's what's Mel's ticked off about. All we seem to care about is being entertained.

Tiger looks like Mickey Mouse. He really wants to look like a gangsta from the ghetto, though.

X17 Poll

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
