Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri made a surprise appearance at the event in which Cruise himself addressed the crowd with, "We are in this together!"

An attendee says that "Tom looked like he was in heaven" while Katie was "doing her best to look as enthusiastic."

John Travolta and Kelly Preston were also there, but appeared more "muted."

Most interestingly, Cruise was overheard chatting with a guest about the protesters outside, calling them "squirrels." He also said that they were "stuck in an electronic incident. It makes me so angry!"

Whoa! How rude. Wait, what does that even mean?

In Beantown for Tom's new comedic thriller Wichita, Tom, Katie and Suri spent a lazy Sunday going for a stroll and a Starbucks.

In their matching plaid, with adorable Suri in Katie's arms, the family looks picture-perfect!

Well, except for the large circles underneath Katie's eyes, those need a bit of retouching.

Isn't Katie the one on vacay? Can't she get some sleep? Or did all those fights about putting Suri in Catholic school keep her up at night?

Tom and Katie have apparently been fighting bitterly over the education of their daughter -- and it seems that Katie has won the battle and enrolled Suri in Catholic school!

The Daily Mail reports that Katie has enrolled her three-year-old at the Catholic Charities Yawkey Centre For Early Education And Learning in Boston.

The family's in Beantown for the fall while Tom shoots his new comedic thriller Wichita.

Katie, who was raised a devout Catholic, has been listening to her parents who've stressed the importance of a Catholic education, says a source.

"She is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic – as she was. They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school." The source continues, "To say they were having arguments is putting it mildly – but Tom came around to the idea in the end."

But does this mean Katie and Suri are no longer Scientologists?

Tom has always preached that being a Scientologist doesn't preclude you from being a Catholic/Jew/Buddist, etc., so perhaps Suri's just learning a little bit about the Pope as well as L. Ron Hubbard!

Meow! Who knew these former co-stars (remember Interview With A Vampire?) had beef with one another?!

Brad Pitt sat down with the German magazine Stern and gave an interview about his upcoming Nazi flick Inglourious Basterds, and when the reporter asked what he thought about Tom Cruises's WWII-era Nazi film Valkyrie, Brad said, "It was a ridiculous movie." Okay, so it wasn't exactly an Oscar contender, but taking a swipe like that at Tom? What has he ever done to Brad?! It's not like he's Billy Bob Thornton!

So what did Brad have to say about his own flick? "The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino] put a cover on that pot," he said. "With Basterds, everything than can be said to this genre has been said. The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story."

Do you think Basterds will really live up to the hype? Sure, it's Quentin, but is this flick really going to be THAT amazing?

Aw, we heart bromances!

Sports Illustrated writer Grant Wahl has a whole chapter about Tom Cruise's friendship with David Beckham in his new book, "The Beckham Experiment," reports the NY Daily News. In fact, Tom has consistently influenced David since they first met in 2003.

Aside from taking Tom's advice about representation, PR firms, where to live in LA, whether or not to take a job with the LA Galaxy and what physical therapists to go to - as if that wasn't already enough! - Posh and Becks named their third son Cruz after him.

David told writer Wahl for the book: "I remember turning around to Victoria and saying, 'Cruise is a great name, but we could spell it different.'"

I'm sure Tom is totally flattered...

Oh, and TomKat put in an appearance as well!

After fifteen years in the acting industry, 36-year-old Cameron Diaz has finally been recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame... congrats, beautiful!

But that's not all - numerous co-stars came out to show their support, including Tom Cruise from Vanilla Sky. When his name was mentioned, however, fans just started to shout, "Katie, Katie!" And all eyes turned to his wife Katie Holmes (who totally towers over everyone in heels)! Uh-oh, did she steal Cam's thunder?

We love the fact that Katie Holmes looks so lively in these shots, and even though Suri looks like she'd rather be somewhere else, she's still totally adorable, and clearly Tom loves her!

We snapped the family Cruise at the CBS studios yesterday afternoon after Katie's taping for So You Think You Can Dance and we couldn't help notice Katie's new look!

Her short bob got a makeover with some short extensions (or is it a wig??) but we're not sure what happened with her face in the above shot -- that doesn't even look like Katie! Perhaps little Suri didn't even recognize mommy!

Aw, it's nice to see box office superstar Tom Cruise out for a drive with his son Connor! What a good dad. Think they're excited about mom/wife Katie Holmes (reportedly) performing on So You Think You Can Dance? Guess that's why she's been at the dance studio 24/7!

Last night, Nobu was the place to be!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes showed up to the swanky sushi spot around 8:20pm, and they sat down at a table with about 5 other individuals. An X17 reporter inside the restaurant tells us:

"There was never a dull moment - Tom did not stop talking! Both husband and wife were dressed casually, but the dinner appeared to be business related."

Of course, Tom and Katie weren't the only famous faces there - Clint Eastwood and Renee Zellweger were there as well, and naturally, Tom stopped by Renee's table to show her some love! Our reporter tells us:

"The highlight of the evening was definitely when Tom walked over to say hi to Renee - it was like a scene straight out of Jerry Maguire! He gave her a hug and a kiss and chatted with her for about 5 minutes before heading out the back door around 10:30pm. The entire restaurant was paying attention and watching the exchange between all the superstars...everyone looked completely and utterly star struck!"

Sounds like patrons really got their money's worth last night!

Maybe it's time for a haircut! The Risky Business star has always looked sexy with longer locks, but perhaps a little trim would do him good. At the very least, his hair wouldn't be blowing all over the place from the wind!

When Katie's not around, Tom prefers to use the backdoor. We spotted him heading up the back steps at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

Earlier our cameras were rolling as Tom stopped by Steven Speilberg's house in Pacific Palisades. Think they might be working together again soon?

Wow, he came and went so quickly! But seriously, what's going on with Tom Cruise these days? He's suddenly looking his age and it worries me. Maybe he should call Madonna and find out what she's doing to stay looking so young and fresh!

It's the perfect fam overseas!

Tom and Katie look pretty fresh, considering they both just off the plane from LA, although baby Suri looks a little worse for wear. And - shocker! - get this: Seems TomKat and co. took a commercial flight!

No wonder Suri looks beat... she isn't used to being cramped in first class! She's used to daddy's G5 that they take everywhere, where a round trip for crew/fuel/etc costs about $250,000, even though he owns the plane.

A first class on Singapore is $15,000/each, so they saved about $205,000 total...

Is the financial crisis hitting even Tom Cruise?!?

Even as a teenager, Katie Holmes says she was certain she would grow up to marry Tom Cruise.

"When Top Gun came out, my sisters were like, 'Oh, my God, Top Gun! Tom Cruise!' And I very confidently said, 'I’m going to marry him one day.' It wasn’t like, How do I get to Tom Cruise? It was just: I think I’m going to marry him. Why not? He’ll like me. I’m fun," Katie says in the new issue of Glamour magazine.

And Katie says marrying the biggest movie star in the world wasn't as overwhelming as you might think.

"From an early age I knew that I wanted to be in this business. So I did everything I could to get here, and when I met Tom, I knew in an instant that we were going to be together, that we were going to get married. He does have a very big life. And you know, we just do it. And, as a woman, you make that transition from being single to [being] a partner. I have a teammate, and it’s like, we’re going to make this work," Katie said.

But forget about Tom controlling her, despite their 16 year age difference.

"[The age difference] was never a concern. I know one would think, Now, how is that? But really, we both like to work, we both like our families. It’s being there, being supportive, being an ear. It’s not so much, 'Do you think I should do this?' It’s 'What do you think of it?'

However, fame does have a downside for Katie. She says the rumors about her relationship with Tom and her daughter Suri were "not OK."

"Some of the stuff [people said] was such absolutely horrible things to say about a child. It was so uncalled for and so disgusting. Enough is enough."

Katie says Tom helps her deal with the media scrutiny.

We were changing diapers. He said, 'I don’t want you to get upset.' And I said, 'Well, I am upset.' So we approached it together. But I definitely felt like—as a woman, as the mother of Suri—I want to handle this! My mom is very strong, and if anyone ever said anything about any of us, she would be, 'Excuse me? That’s my family!'"

She also denies the rumors that Suri may soon be welcoming a baby brother or sister in the near future.

"I'm not pregnant right now," Katie says.

Also spotted: A curious shade of green on Katie's fingernails, but only on one hand. What's up with that?!?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes attended the Rio premiere of "Valkyrie" last night, and we're amazed to see Mrs. Cruise wearing something so colorful!

With regards to that blue sash, it looks like Suri went up to her mom and tied a ribbon around her lower bust, so that's kinda weird. Also, I don't know what to think about the dress itself...should it have been all one color (the green would have been pretty!), or do you like the Christmas mixed with Fourth of July theme she's got going on?

Anyway, despite my mixed feelings about the garment itself, I will say this: Katie's retro glam hair and makeup complement the sparkly frock quite nicely, and she looks vibrant (for her), so this is a huge improvement over the other shots we've snapped of her recently!

Tom Cruise is still in Brazil promoting Valkyrie, and the actor showed off his pecs (or are they moobs?) in this shiny black button down shirt.
