Tom Cruise is showing off his ripped 49-year-old body in the pages of W Magazine as his Rock of Ages character Stacee Jaxx.

The muscular stud, sporting faux tats and piercings, revealed that he asked for a baboon during the filming process. Tom tells the mag:

“After working for weeks on Stacee’s technical skills, I was thinking about the character, and I said, ‘You know what? I need a monkey.’ Adam said, ‘What the f— are you talking about?’ And I said, ‘I’m serious – I need a monkey’ [laughs]. When Stacee’s not onstage, he’s kind of sad. And I thought, This guy has to have a monkey that’s his best friend. Adam found this baboon. He sent me the baboon’s audition tape, and I said, ‘The baboon’s name has to be Hey Man’ [laughs]. Stacee Jaxx doesn’t work without Hey Man.”

As for how Mr. Cruise learned to dance, he adds, "I learned how to dance watching Soul Train." Um, ok.

Here's something the ladies haven't seen in a while: a shirtless Tom Cruise!

The forever A-lister flaunted his sexy six-pack as he donned his Stacee Jaxx persona from his upcoming movie Rock of Ages for the cover of W's June issue and the 49-year-old looks as hot as ever!

“I knew we had to push the sexuality because of the nature of the character and the songs," Cruise told the magazine. "He’s singing, ‘I want to know what love is.’”

We're sure many women know what love is after seeing this photo!

In this new trailer for Rock of Ages, Katie Holmes' hubby performs a killer version of "Wanted Dead or Alive" as the character Stacee Jaxx, and the Top Gun star's body looks fierce!

The flick also stars Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ryan Seacrest's main squeeze, Julianne Hough.

Victoria and David Beckham made their way into the star-studded party. Posh, 37, was wearing a gorgeous white gown from her own collection with a skinny black belt.

Katie Holmes, wearing a strapless chiffon gown by Elie Saab, was escorted into the party by sexy hubby Tom Cruise.

And a blue-haired and single Katy Perry rocked a shimmery Blumarine gown. Yikes ... may be a good time to get that hair back to normal, girlfriend!

Looks like someone needed a break from all those Broadway musicals!

Tom Cruise is finally done promoting Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol, so now it's time for more important things -- you know, like taking his darling daughter Suri to Disneyland!

The duo were spotted strolling through the amusement park yesterday, and later Suri had her face painted (with pink hearts, natch) and Tom took her on almost every single ride, including the Mad Tea Party, the Storybook boat ride and the Merry Go Round. See, she's not such a diva!

Tom Cruise certainly loves a thrill!

The 49-year-old Mission: Impossible star was spotted riding his red Ducati yesterday, and he zipped in between traffic lanes like a pro. Of course, this is the guy who does all of his own movie stunts, so taking his bike for a spin seems like a piece of cake compared to scaling the 2,717-foot tall Burj Khalifa in Dubai!

Or is Suri trying to hide her eyes from the blinding flashbulbs? Either way, she's doing it with such style!

Following behind the pint-sized fashionista .. her superstar dad Tom Cruise and mom Katie Holmes. We think Suri should ditch the heels for a minute ... and invest in some Uggs to keep those toesies warm.

The family of three have been spending time in New York while Tom promotes Mission Impossible 4: The Ghost Protocol. But looks like the threesome will be spending the Christmas holiday in LA.

We have a feeling Suri will have quite a few nice gifts under the tree!
