While Katie dined in Los Angeles, Tom was off playing Nazi officer Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg in Germany for Bryan Singer's new film Valkyrie. Although the production was denied permission to shoot on location in Berlin (due to Cruise's beliefs in Scientology), filming has begun in an unused airport southeast of Berlin. The Germans are caught between a rock and a hardplace in their outcry of Cruise, a Scientologist, playing a German martyr. Some say their dislike of Scientology (considered tyrannical by some) comes from a lesson learned from WWII, others use this instance to point to Germany's history of religious intolerance.
Should they just adopt the US military's practice of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" when it comes to religion?

Scientology is considered a dangerous sect, that psychologically manipulates and brainwashes their members by a lot of people in Europe. It has nothing to do with WWII or Germanys "history of religious intolerance". Cruise's adherence to Scientology has become an image issue, too.
I wont see the movie and havent seen any of his films in awhile I dont want to support scientology. Same goes for John Travoltas movies

Perhaps Tom wants to bring recognition to the fact that not ALL Germans or even ALL Nazis approved of Hitler, that there were those that tried to put a stop to the madness.
