Tom Cruise And Church Of Scientology Reportedly Under FBI Investigation Over Slave Labor Practices
Posted on Wed Feb 9, 2011 11:46 AM PDT
This sounds downright creepy.
Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology are reportedly under FBI investigation over allegations of human trafficking regarding a luxury bus named ‘Silver Screen’ which the Church gave to Cruise as a gift, while he was shooting Mission Impossible: 3 in July 2005.
Several emails have since emerged which suggest underpaid staffers put almost 9,000 hours into the trailer’s construction, earning a mere $50 a week for their work on the project for Cruise.
Former Scientology manager Mark Rathbun exposed various internal emails sent to Scientology boss Dave Miscavige (Tom's best man in his wedding to Holmes), which give us a peek into Tom’s strange requests for the design of his luxury bus ... which also came equipped with a "Purification Rundown Program", so wife Katie Holmes could begin her entry into the Church.
Some exerts from these emails reveal:
- “He requested a space be figured out for slippers in the front of Silver Screen as he does not want any shoes on the carpe. This is figured out; there is a drawer right at the entrance, which can be used for this. He also stated that no-one will be allowed to enter Silver Screen other than his personal assistants.”
But this wasn’t the first time the Church gave one of its biggest stars a gift. Former member John Brosseau says Dave Miscavige instructed him to customize Cruise’s SUV, two motorcycles and an entire building. We guess it pays to be a celebrity friend of L. Ron Hubbard!
Apparently the FBI got involved after allegations were made of human trafficking and underpaid labor being used in the building of this mega-bus for Cruise, but the Church has denied any staff were mistreated, and they also denounced Mr. Rathbun as an "anti-Scientologist devoid of credibility".
Scientology spokesman Tom Davis spoke out against the claims, saying:
- “Whatever small economic benefit Mr. Cruise may have received pales in comparison to the benefits the Church has received from Mr. Cruise’s many years of volunteer efforts."
Who says volunteering doesn't pay off?
Find out how Tom fell into the world of Scientology, after the jump!
Cruise married Mimi Rogers on May 9, 1987 and although they divorced February 4, 1990 Rogers is generally believed to have introduced Cruise to Scientology. The star is the church's "second in command in all but name." Cruise has said Scientology, specifically the L. Ron Hubbard Study Tech, helped him overcome dyslexia. Cruise has campaigned for Scientology to be recognized as a religion in Europe. He lobbied politicians in France and Germany, where the legal systems regard Scientology as a cult and business, respectively. David Miscavige awarded Cruise Scientology's Freedom Medal of Valor in late 2004.

These are all very dubious facts. Rathburn was one of the Scientology bad hats in his time who got given the flick for molestation. He was like a leper in a convant.
That's just wrong but the rich hollywood idiots abuse their "power" and "status" all the time. But these hypocrites will tell the average hardworking american how to spend their money and live their life. They are all just a bunch of blowhards getting rich off of people buying their movies, clothes, music, whatever.
is the Nick Broadhurst above at 4:42 the same Nick Broadhurst, a scientologist, of New zealand?
Of course Nick Broadhurst is a Scientologist! Wow, you guys even found your way to X17! Unbelievable how this group operates.
People, please read the piece in the New Yorker this post was based on. It is online. It is fascinating.
Scientology is dangerous. There is part of me that is drawn to it because I think, God, if this shit really works I'll try it! That thinking is how people get sucked in. Who doesn't want steps to pure freedom just laid out for you? Anyway, I couldn't afford to be a Scientologist even if I wanted to. I don't have big celebrity money and I don't really want to live in a work camp or on a ship somewhere.

The feds are out to get the scientologists; they claim they're not a 'cult' - they just act like one; most notably when they have a lamb on the hook-they tell that person they must break all ties with family and friends..reason is same reason all cults do this-because they will start demanding this brainwashed person to make ridiculous donations of time and money on this extravagant instiution in which the leaders are filthy rich not dirt poor like a buddhest monk.. his/her family will inevitably attempt to get this person to end the self destructive behavior of being a part of the cult.. BBC documentary clearly exposed this aspect of Scientology.
Hope they all rot in jail someday, including TC.
Nick Broadhurst is the Scientology Office of Special Affairs handler sent to "handle" this article.
I wrote about this in my book “Hollywood, Satanism, Scientology, and Suicide,” which was published in February of 2009. The fact that money from various non-profit Scientology organizations and labor provided by various non-profit Scientology organizations are used for the personal benefit of David Miscavige, Tom Cruise, other Scientology senior executives, and other Scientology celebrities (such as John Travolta, Chick Corea, and Priscilla Presley) was first revealed in an affidavit to Los Angeles lawyers by Andre Tabayoyon, a Scientologist for 21 years.
