Tom Cruise Hires Guns N' Roses Vocal Coach To Prepare For Role In Rock Of Ages

For the upcoming movie Rock of Ages, Tom Cruise is set to play an 80s glam rock star, so to get his voice ready for the role, Katie Holmes' hubby has enlisted help from Axl Rose's vocal coach.

In a recent interview, director Adam Shankman confirmed the news about Cruise's work with the Guns n' Roses vocal tutor. Shankman says:

"He's been studying with - seriously - Axl Rose's voice teacher like five hours a day ... he's so committed to doing it ... he's pouring himself in this part in a way I've never had an actor do. It's pretty intense. Between the voice lessons, the incredible study - researching the period, it's like 1987, just going there!"

Shankman adds, "I think we're going to see him, every drop, the rock 'n' roll god!"
