Anderson Cooper's remarks regarding The Dilemma trailer being offensive for featuring the line "that's so gay" has forced GLAAD to take swift action. Contrary to various reports, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation tells X17online exclusively that it "does not and did not support this trailer."

The organization reached out to Universal Pictures to pressure them into making a quick edit ... and it worked. Universal agreed to remove the offensive joke from all promotional campaigns, including the trailer.

GLAAD sent the following statement to X17online:

“The use of the word ‘gay’ in this trailer as a slur is unnecessary and does nothing more than send a message of intolerance about our community to viewers."

Anderson Cooper made the following comment after he happened to watch The Dilemma trailer while waiting for his movie to start.

"I just find those words, those terms - we’ve got to do something to make those words unacceptable ’cause those words are hurting kids."

As for actor Vince Vaughn, whose character says the controversial line ... his rep says Vaughn will not be commenting.

Do you think Universal made a mistake by including the phrase in the trailer?

They are so stupid. I suppose straight people would be up in arms if the line was "That's so straight". Gay people, I don't hate you but your 15 minutes of fame and nonsense is up.

Giving in to GLAAD is so gay

Homo's throw a tizzy if you talk about their gayness and pervy demented behavior.

The USE of the WORD is not always about bashing. When Anderson comes out whining about a WORD, that, by the way does not belong to only YOU, it absolutely proves every negative thought about gay men in particular. This is about as stupid as the distinction that Clinton tried to make with the word "is". Petty, splitting of hairs on the leg of a nat. Anyone who knows people in the gay community KNOWS about the diparaging remarks made by them about "straights" all the time in private. Just because that particular bias has not made it to the big screen does not mean it doesn't exist. Get OVER yourselves.

If more people in the public eye would come out of their safe closets maybe it would help a little?

SCREW OFF GLAAD.

Isn't that the newscaster who made tea bagging jokes on air about the tea party?
Can't have it both ways, Andy.

Oh people, please get over yourselves, you refer to your selves as gay so you want us to stop using the word. YOu getting insulted over that is like me getting upset for someone saying, "That's so Italian...oh yeah, and what does the g stand for in LGBT stand for anyway???? just asking

Like Anderson Cooper. He'd be a great place to start. As long as he is ashamed of who he is, what is the point of this conversation?

Homosexuals stole the word gay from literature, so I think it's time we take it back and call them homosexuals again. Get over yourselves, we tolerate you homosexuals but we don't like you.

Ridiculous. I wonder if any actual GAYS were offended by this, besides Anderson Cooper. I mean, isn't he the one that pointed it out and made it so that GLAAD HAD to react? What a douchebag. That's destructive Sensationalism in my opinion.

Anderson Cooper should stick to picking-up young latin gay boys. He's is well known for having young men in LA and NYC. That's so gay!!!

Big deal. Who hasn't said that's so gay before. Even my gay friends have said it. Get a sense of humor.

Posted by: Anonymous

since when does GLAAD have to give it's 'approval' PAHLEEEESE!

Posted by: Anonymous

The gays are the ones who said that is so gay first and besides this story is so gay.

Please stupid gays you should be worring about the eternal burning in hell you'll be getting and stop worring about the word gay. No body wants to hear about you you are so boring and stupid who do you think you are now the church or something to be disaproving things. Just get a life.

What went wrong on The X Factor today with Britney Spears?

Britney definitely had another meltdown. This is proof she's not ready to step back into the spotlight!
I think Britney may have overreacted to a bad audition, but it will be entertaining to watch later!
I think Simon Cowell planned this all along. Brit probably even rehearsed it!
