Bad Dog!

Earlier this morning, a terrible tragedy occurred in Ving Rhames' house, as the Pulp Fiction actor's dogs went insane and mauled his assistant/housekeeper, who later died. Details are still sketchy at this early stage in the investigation - right now, both the police and animal control services are currently at Rhames' Brentwood house following up on details - but KABC is reporting that the victim's body was covered with bite marks! No word yet from the actor, who's currently out of town, but we did manage to get our photographers over to the scene of the crime to snap some pix of the craziness going down - we'll be sure to get you more info as it becomes available!

if his dogs were mastiffs, really it makes no sense that they would do that unless someone was mean and hurting them. Mastiffs are considerd gental giants because of there nature... It's very sad though :(

There isn't any word on whether or not the dogs severed the man's throat. Don't write news items if you can't get the facts straight. Its a tabloid site; however, sensationalizing a tragic story like this is ridiculous.

OMG! This is just insane. I love Ving Rhames as an actor---wow! This is so terrible. I feel so sorry for the caretaker and his family. Mr. Rhames was not at home. I am sure he is feeling terrible that something like this happened. The guy worked for him for 2 years and was the 'dog handler'. This is crazy. Although I love Ving..I wonder why on earth people need these types of dogs. They are just trouble. They are always attacking someone. It's terrible. They need to be outlawed everywhere!
The Neapolitan Mastiff is steady and loyal to his owner, not aggressive or apt to bite without reason. As a protector of his property and owners, he is always watchful and does not relish intrusion by strangers into his personal space. His attitude is calm yet wary. In the show ring he is majestic and powerful, but not showy.
I would disagree that those dogs are Neaploitan's and I would agree that they are definitely not bullmastiff's.

To the last poster..how do you know these dogs were 'fighters'. Also, how do you know Ving was a bad owner. I don't think we have ANY details here yet to draw any conclusions.... I hate when people make assumptions.......

Hard to believe the dogs would just turn on someone who has been helping to take care of them for 2 years. I know it does happen but just doesn't make sense. I feel bad for all involved!

The police spokesman even made a statement that none of the bites were FATAL and that he may have had a heart attack.....YET NO ONE IS COMMENTING ABOUT THAT ON THE BLOG SITES OR IN THE NEWS.
I have owned mastiffs for the past 15 years. I currently have four. I can tell you that the English Mastiff they led away from Rhames' home DID NOT KILL THE CARETAKER. Total strangers had him by leash and the big lug was WAGGING his tail the entire time. There was no BLOOD on the dogs being taken away. IF THEY VICIOUSLY MAULED A MAN TO DEATH....THERE WOULD BE BLOOD ON THEM STILL.
Even the police said the dogs have good temperment.
Someone should shoot the MORON cop who spoke too soon and said the dogs mauled this man to death and started a frenzy of MORONS who claim Mastiffs are vicious even though they are known to have one of the LOWEST bite rates for a breed..
