Looks like Wesley Snipes is heading to jail, but before getting locked up, he stopped by Larry King Live to discuss his legal woes.

With his lawyer beside him, Snipes tells King:

“I’m more upset and disappointed in the system. We still have prayers out there, Larry. We still believe in miracles. So don’t send me up the river just yet.”

Back in February 2008, the Blade actor was convicted by a Florida jury on three misdemeanor counts for willfully failing to file federal tax returns from 1999 - 2001. Snipes is now getting ready to serve three years in a Pennsylvania cell.

During the interview, Snipes adds, "I was never charged with tax evasion. I was convicted of three misdemeanors of willful failure to file a form."

Actor Wesley Snipes is now in the custody of federal authorities to begin his three year prison sentence for tax-related crimes.

The 48-year-old actor surrendered to authorities this morning, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Snipes was convicted in 2008 of three misdemeanor counts of willfully failing to file federal tax returns.

Prosecutors in the case were able to prove that the actor obstructed the IRS and tried to avoid paying millions of dollars in federal taxes.

Snipes, who has appeared in numerous movies like the Blade series, U.S. Marshals and White Men Can't Jump, tried for years to appeal his conviction, but was unsuccessful.

Wesley Snipes is gonna's spend three hard years behind bars for tax fraud after being sentenced today by a Florida judge.

Snipes tried to get out of doing time by calling in favors from friends in high places -- Denzel Washington, Woody Harrelson, and TV's Judge Joe Brown filed testimonials about Wesley's character but even that was enough to keep him from going to jail.

In February, Snipes was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return. Maybe he has the same accountant as Britney!

Lucky for Snipes, however, he was acquitted today of felony tax fraud and conspiracy charges, otherwise he coulda been behind bars for 16 years!!!

Why on earth would Wesley Snipes joke about being "the last celebrity out of the club"? He was certainly keeping current when we bumped into him outside of Area - not only did he have plenty to say about Eddie Murphy and his Oscar picks, but even his shrugged-off getaway lines have some bearing on recent events!
