When Indie Worlds Collide

Jeez - has it really only been a decade and a half since indie rock was dominated by glum sourpusses who'd never publicly admit to any fondness for a hip-hop act in a billion years? It certainly feels like longer, especially when we catch Fall Out Boy lead singer Pete Wentz leaning out of his car to say hello to tiny TRL-topper Lady Sovereign - I mean, if it were 1993, wouldn't you have been shocked to see what's-his-face from Collective Soul shouting out Speech from Arrested Development?
Really, though, seeing Pete reach across the Rock & Roll aisle shouldn't be too much of a surprise - after all, isn't he dating Ashlee Simpson?
