Whoopi Goldberg: The New York Times "Hurt Me Terribly"
Posted on Mon Feb 14, 2011 01:16 PM PDT
Poor Whoopi Goldberg. The New York Times did a piece entitled "Hollywood's Whiteout" where they mention all past black Oscar winners except for Goldberg, who won the award for Ghost in 1991.
Here's what the actress said on The View this morning:
- "I am embarrassed to tell you it hurt me terribly. When you win an Academy Award, that's part of what you've done, your legacy. I will always be Academy Award-winner Whoopi Goldberg."
Whoopi also added, "And just in case there's any damn question..." and pulled out her actual Oscar. She went on:
- "This is not hidden information... It's hard to not take it personally... People in Somalia know. People in China know. Because I - I know it's hard to believe - am a worldwide person who's known... I don't know what to say about what you've done. [There's] nothing I can say except that you're sloppy in your work."
Awkward! We're waiting for the apology...
