Like father, like son!

Will Smith and his son/co-star Jaden's After Earth press tour was in full swing on Thursday in New York City as the two continued to make their rounds while greeting their devoted fan base.

The two leading men have been promoting their latest sic-fi/action flick, which has already received mixed reviews but one thing's for certain: never count a Will Smith movie out!

Will Smith and Jaden Smith certainly picked up some snazzy suits for the New York City premiere of their new flick, After Earth!

However, the Smith ladies weren't about the let the boys steal the show ... Willow and mom Jada made sure to strike some fierce poses on the red carpet before getting together for a family photo outside the Ziegfeld Theater.

So what about that recent interview where Will basically called the Kardashians a bunch of fame hungry folks who pushed their entire family into show business? Apparently Kendall Jenner didn't seem to mind, because we snapped her on the red carpet ... perhaps waiting around for her beau Jaden?

It's true that the Smiths have made showbiz a family biz, but don't compare them to that family of fame mongers -- the Kardashians.

In an interview with New York magazine, Will Smith laughed off the comparison to the Kardashian family, who he described as exploitative. The question was initially posed to his son Jaden, who is rumored to be dating Kardashian half-sister Kylie Jenner, but Will jumped in and answered instead.

Will said that his family's goal is to be happy, both in their personal and professional lives, not to be famous.

"For our family, the entire structure of our life, our home, our business relationships -- the entire purpose is for everyone to be able to create in a way that makes them happy. Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we're really trying to accomplish. We are trying to put great things into the world, we're trying to have fun, and we're trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love. So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us."

When asked if his son Jaden could have been a dentist instead of an actor, Will got defensive.

"It may seem like we have pushed our kids into the business, but that is absolutely insane. I would never, ever, push somebody to have their face on a poster that's going be everywhere in the world. He is making a choice from the informed. It's less scary to me than if he wanted to be a dentist in that I couldn't help with what he'd chosen. I have relationships with some of the biggest filmmakers and actors and producers on Earth. So I can be a huge help."

Will and Jaden were promoting their postapocalyptic flick After Earth, which opens in theaters this Friday.

This guy is on fire!

Jaden Smith took a momentary break from his After Earth red carpet rounds to promote his fashion line.

Jaden, his business partner JJ Lam, and co-designers brothers Moises and Mateo Arias donned MSFtS t-shirts at the event on Sunday in Taipei, Taiwan. The brand, which Jaden described as "street goth," is inspired by their collective love of skateboarding.

Aside from designing and acting, the 14 year-old is also recording an album titled The Cool Cafe: CoolTape Volume 1.

The Smiths left Taipei today. The father-son duo had been visiting the city since late May to promote their sci-fi thriller, which hits U.S. theaters on May 31. In the futuristic flick, Jaden's character travels across an inhabitable, post-acopocalypic Earth to recover their broken spacecraft and, in turn, rescue his father.

Will Smith and son Jaden jetted to Taipei to promote their film After Earth yesterday. The pair play a father and son in the sci-fi thriller, which hits U.S. theaters on May 31. In the futuristic flick, Jaden's character travels across an inhabitable, post-acopocalypic Earth to recover their broken spacecraft and, in turn, rescue his father.

The duo signed autographs, posed for photos, and met with fans yesterday. They will appear at another promotional event, which will reportedly involve the film's title being lasered onto the city's tallest skyscraper, later tonight.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesman for Sony Taiwan said the Smiths refused to enter and leave event venues through special exits and even asked organizers to lengthen tonight's red carpet in order to sign more autographs. Take that, Tom Cruise!

After Earth marks the second time the two have costarred together -- the family that works together, stays together.

Last night a solo Will Smith was spotted out and about in Hollywood, and the 44-year-old actor was in a great mood, but he was starting to show his age -- just check out the silver hairs around his temples!

But where's his wife Jada? Remember the series of interviews she gave a few years back where she talked about all the wild and crazy sex they were having? "Be sneaky ... [do it at] your girlfriend's house at a party. The bathroom. A bedroom," Pinkett-Smith told Redbook in 2009. "Think of places outside that are comfortable to have sex. Does he have access to his office? Have a fantasy date. Be his secretary! Pull over on the side of the road ... Just switch it up." Think things have calmed down since then?

Will Smith is currently busy promoting Men in Black III, and even though he's traveled from LA to Berlin to London to NYC (whew!) over the past ten days, he still has plenty of energy for his fans! The 43-year-old actor was spotted leaving his New York hotel this afternoon, and he was practically mobbed by the crowd when he walked to his car.

Will recently chatted with Access Hollywood about taking off three years from the movie business, and even though he's happy to be back in the game, it sounds like he's just fine stepping out of the spotlight too.

"Getting that time in with the family, it’s been like, just for me, it’s something I’ve dreamed about for a long time when I was a little kid I used to watch Dallas,” he said. “And I used to love how everybody lived on the same property and how everybody came to breakfast together… so, it’s like I’ve been building Dallas in my mind my whole life, so [it’s] really great to see how it’s starting to come to fruition."

We know he's referring to his own life, but it's kind ironic seeing as the remake of Dallas is hitting the small screen in three weeks!
