An incredibly dumb comment...why even bring up Hitler in any comparison of someone not meaning to do anything bad? That is a stupid and unwinnable comparison to make...anyone that deliberately kills 10s of millions of people cannot be doing what he "thought was good".

A Hitler comment is like touching the 3rd rail...just don't even go there. Here is a tip for any one in public life...there are some things that are fine to talk about...anything even remotely resembling anything that could be construed as excusing Hitler, is a very dumb idea, and will only bring you scorn.

I commend Will for his comment. I think there is good in everyone. Not to get preachy but if you believe in God you will know that God created mankind he didn't create evil. He created us all good. There is good in Hitler, there is good in the KKK, there is good in people who raped and killed slaves. There is also good in the people who are so consumed with anger that they feel like they want to rip anyone apart because they don't agree with them, there's even good in the people at x17 who knowing tries to destroy the reputation and credibility of hardworking entertainers. I am 2:16 I was starting to get frustated here, it was like being trapped in a cave talking to myself. God created us with the evil inclination in order to give us an oppurtinity of overcomiing it - by overcoming it - we create goodness

by overcoming the urge to kill and destroy we force the evil inclination to serve a very good purpose

g-d DID creat evil (with a very clear- and you can say good purpose) so that it would tempt man and thereby promp him to overcome the temptation thereby bring out qualities in him that would otherwise not be accessible

Proof - the story of adam and eve the serpent is the personification of the evil inclination within us and the forbidden status of the fruit is the temptation now it is up to adam and even to rise to the occasion or plummet to the valley floor... and they plummetted

We are all born with the capacity for evil - but it is up to us to use our free choice and not act on our evil impulses.

This article is misleading. Will Smith didn't say anything about seeing "good" in Hitler. He just commented that people who do evil things (like Hitler) don't view their actions as evil.
Hitler hated the jews, and constructed a sick ideology to try and justify his hatred. In his delusional mind, the jews were evil sub-humans that needed to be done away with for the good of Germany. That's not saying he was right, or that his idea of what was good for Germany was correct, it's just pointing out a pretty obvious fact.

People need to get a grip. The reality is Hitler was not the devil. People react to any mention of his name like a vampire would react to a cross. It is all very irrational. His comments were simply common sense. Does anyone believe hitler believed himself to be evil and reveled in it. Why is saying this is not how it was controversial? Is our society made up of adults or children.
i would also like to say that certain people do not have the right not to be offended. This political correctness is insane. Why is the holocaust always about the only thing that ever gets brought up in relation to Hitler? They killed a lot more people than just jews, but no one seems to care too much about that. Also atrocities and so called "war crimes" were committed on both sides, including the allied powers. The commies are responsible for WAY more deaths than HItler ever was, also.

When you start talking about Hitler, you are dealing with a subject that even some of the best scholars on the subject are left totally perplexed! They can't even agree on whether he was partly Jewish or not, virtually everything about his motives is conjecture. The very recent documentary about what remains of Hitler's relatives is a case in point, they are hiding their existence under assumed identities, saying as little as they can, even to the people making the documentary and apparently they are not having any children, hoping the family of Hitler will just die off! Hitler is very much an enigma for the ages, when you start talking about him publicly you are leaving yourself open to controversy. He was evil, no doubt, millions died because of him, why he really did all this, even the scholars don't know for sure and just may never know!
