Former Spice Girl Mel C. Opens Up About "Lesbian" Rumors

Life as a Spice Girl wasn't easy!
In a recent interview with the UK's Daily Mail, Melanie Chisholm, aka Sporty Spice, opened up about the hardships she faced after being thrown into the spotlight with the popular all-girl group.
The 37-year-old singer confessed:
- "Being in the Spice Girls was amazing, but also very tough. I was young and impressionable, and I found it hard to read about myself. The tabloids were cruel about my appearance, and nothing can prepare you for that. You just have to fight your way through it."
The former Spice Girl also claims she was labeled as "masculine" and goes on to clear up any rumors about sexuality.
"There were a lot of lies printed that prompted questions about my sexuality," the singer adds, but she welcomed daughter Scarlet in February 2009, and has been dating property developer Thomas Starr for nine years.
And will we be treated to a Spice Girls reunion at the 2012 Olympics in London?
Chisholm tells the paper: "Our last tour was amazing. It rekindled old friendships and made me appreciate the other girls again. The Olympics would be brilliant, but I don't know the truth. I'd love to do something, but it would have to involve all five of us."
Mel Chisholm recently released her fifth solo album, The Sea.
