The so called moderate muslims didn't do a good job denouncing the so called extremists. Their stand and intention are not clear. That's why you just can't convince Americans it's ok to build a mosque at ground zero for "moderate" muslims to pay. How moderate are they?

These comments are hilarious! I couldn't get through most of them because some were too stupid to be taken seriously and waste my time with. I will say however that Whoopi and Joy should have held their ground when O'Riley (who is obviously a bigot and will use free speech as an excuse to lump large groups of people together) stated that Muslims bombed America. I think there is a huge difference in saying "Muslim extremists" and "Muslim." Unless O'Riley was trying to lump them together intentionally (now why would he do that I wonder? Hmm...).
But anyone with basic common sense could understand that when you lump groups of people together, you are demonstrating your own ignorance. That's like saying all white people are KKK members, or all Mexicans eat burritos, or all black people are rappers, or all Asian people eat dog...the list can go on I'm sure you know. Pretty extreme. While these statements may be true of SOME people, that is in no way an excuse to lazily lump people together. This is common sense.

Whoopi and Joy: you both need to stand your ground in the presence of the ignorant. Walking away isn't going to change that. Instead, pick his brain and ask O'Riley who claims he wasn't "sugar-coating" what he had said (which implies then that he thinks all Muslims are the same if he refuses to acknowledge the difference between extremists and non-extrememist Muslims), "why are you hastily lumping the extremists in the same category as Muslim? are you trying to say that all Muslims are extremists? Why do you believe this? Can you prove this?"
Those questions would have been better to ask him instead of walking off the set. All you did was tickle O'Riley's pickle. He now will use this as an excuse to lump those of us who do not share the same perspective as his own as "extremist liberals."

However, does that mean we should undermine the constitution of "freedom of religion"? I feel like what ever side you take on it, its a sensitive issue that will put you in the category as either being FOR the mosque, or against it. Even when you decide to "not comment" like Obama did, that automatically puts you in the "For the mosque" group. Which really sucks. I think if Obama said "hell no! No mosque near ground zero" there would be people with picket signs saying Obama didn't honor the constitution. So instead, he's being labeled a supporter of the mosque. He's screwed either way.

Lovell, if you watched the show from the start you would have heard that O Reilly and the other sides were clearly saying that muslim terrorists were responsible for 911 and not all Muslims. The Muslim Killed Us comment may have been stated wrongly but obviously what he meant was that the people who killed on 9/11 were Muslims. He worded it wrongly. What Joy and Whoopi should have done was to call him on the error. He would have most likely restated it. But instead they threw a fit and walked out.
