Roman Polanski Finally Arrested 30 Years After Pleading Guilty To Unlawful Sexual Intercourse...

This has been a long time coming!
Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski was arrested Saturday by Swiss police upon arriving in Zurich - where he was set to receive an honorary award at the Zurich Film Festival - and taken into custody, the AP reports...
The 76-year-old fled the U.S. in 1978 after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. Authorities have sought his arrest around the world since 2005.
"There was a valid arrest request and we knew when he was coming," says Swiss Justice Ministry spokesman Guido Balmer. He also says the U.S. would now have to make a formal extradition request.
Polanski - famous for directing Rosemary's Baby, as well as The Pianist - has lived in France the past 30 years. He's married to Emanuelle Seigner and has two children.

If the guy have been living a normal life and didn't involved anything with children in the past 30 years then the case should be dismissed IMO.

A minor can not consent to sex the only time a minor is allowed to consent is if he or she is married. Her desire to not prosecute him is irrelevant; the decision to bring him to trial is for the attorney general not the victim.
He pled guilty to one count of having sex with a minor; in my book that makes him a pedophile and it means at a minimum he should be a registered sex offender. He fled the U.S.A. to avoid being sentenced so when he gets back here he should be held without bail and eventually be before a judge to get punished for both the original offense and for running.
He should be made to do some time, and to be fair the amount should be fair and equal to what someone would face if they didn’t run and then some more for the happy feet.
