What A Week Of Fasting Can Do For You ...

I spent my summer doing what I do best and that was focusing on health and fitness in LA.
I'm usually working non-stop but was fortunate enough to have enough clients traveling so it freed up my time to explore. My first venture was to Palm Springs to experience a week of fasting at We Care Spa. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever done for myself.
For whatever reason, it took a lot for me to go. I was nervous; I felt like it was too much in every way, yet I knew I desperately needed to make a shift and take a break. I exercise and watch my diet all the time but I needed something extreme. I thought this would be the perfect thing and it was.
I loved it there and the benefits of fasting are extraordinary. Their juice fast lets you eliminate the waste you have stored inside your colon and organs. You are drinking from the moment you wake till you go to bed. You are also completely satisfied and I can say I was not hungry. Some drinks are: organic vegetable juice, herbal teas, spirulina, barley and wheat grass, high-fiber detox drink, herbal laxative, and alkaline Kangen lemon-mint water. You also drink one cup of vegetable soup.
Not only is this place peaceful, but it's a desert oasis. I didn't want to leave. Fasting the right way can only give you positive energy and focus. I became clearer, more level headed and more energetic. It made me want to put only good food inside my body. I am a healthy eater but after doing a fast like this I wanted to become even healthier.
They offer over 30 different treatments and all of them are beneficial to help you rid yourself of excess water and toxic build-up you are carrying around. These treatments stimulate the muscles and tissue and carry healing properties into every layer in the body.
The colonics were awkward at first but extremely beneficial and clearing. This is my new favorite thing and I am going to incorporate into my life.
You leave with the owners cookbook and guide on how to fast while you are away from the Spa for maintenance. Apparently, I'm not the only fan of We Care. Matthew McConaughey has been spotted there and I also saw Stockard Channing during my stay.
My next finds were two new fitness studios. The first is Movement Studio in LA, owned and operated by a former colleague. It's fantastic. If you are looking for intimate studio where you can get a lot of attention without the cost of a personal trainer, this is your place. It's in a beautiful loft and offers Pilates, burlesque, dance and sculpting classes. All classes are limited to 10 people or less. They have private Pilates as well taught by Elizabeth Orway. It's one of the newest and coolest studios in LA and Debi Mazar was spotted there.
The next studio I fell for was Up Dog yoga and spinning. It's a great studio with awesome classes at a fair price. In fact your first session is free. Can't beat that! The energy there is up, up, up and the people who work there are FAB!!!
