As someone who got pregnant young (16), I'm not quite sure that she should be judged based on her sisters doings. Only time will tell what kind of parent she will be. Until then, I think that it would be more beneficial for everyone to spend their energy PRAYING for her, instead of putting her down. It is possible to succeed in this situation, and I hope and pray that she provides this child with the love and protection that it deserves. (And on a side note- I'm 21 and a year away from getting my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. So teen parents can succeed just like their childless peers). I have noticed that many have praise for this very unfortunate situation, while other condemn her. Some have praised her for at least keeping her pregnancy going but NO ONE has mentioned Adoption! There are Thousands of families waiting for a child to bless their lives. These families have the emotional, monetary & marital abilities that most pregnant children do not! In this case she may have the money and may love her child, however she is lacking in several vital areas that are needed in raising a child. Many teenage parents have done the best they can for their precious children but it is not enough. There is a reason that Adoption is a viable solution, because it works. People who adopt have shown to be more involved in their child's life. Able to meet the emotional, physical, mental, monetary, and marital aspects that a child desperately is in need of to live and grow into successful adults. These adopted children are loved beyond measure, no adopted child is ever a mistake or unwanted. They are prayed for, waited for and many times their adopted parents have gone thru hell to bring their child into the family. Once they are found the children are cherished all the more for they are chosen and wanted. As an adopted woman who has also adopted I know I am loved more by my adopted "Real" parents than I can ever know. They choose me & wanted me more than anything to be in their family. I can appreciate this as I feel the same about my adopted "Real" Daughter. And I do believe that adopted children are loved more simply because of the trials and work it takes to be able to finally have your child. Now I am not saying that adopting is the answer for teenage pregnancy or that it's OK to have a child when you are essentially a child. Just I am shocked that everyone has forgotten that adoption is most likely the best option for children who have children. Because of Adoption the child is given the exact things that the pregnant teens usually want for their babies. A loving home with a family who yearned for a Child. Parents who are attentive to the child's needs more than their own. In my case a mom who is able to stay at home and raise me properly with good morals and manners (which I now get to do for my beloved daughter). The ability to provide and live in a beautiful home. To never be neglected or abandoned because of parental inability and lack of maturity. to never feel resentment from anyone simply because of their existence. Some teenage Mom's do step it up and are able to provide many of these things. They are awesome Mom's and do everything right however Most adoptive parents can do it better and give the child a better life. As the saying goes DNA doesn't make you a Mom, selflessness does.
I gave a boy and a girl up for adoption when I was young because it seemed like the right thing to do. When I was 50 the boy found me and is part of my life now. After meeting him I realized I gave him up because I was to cowardly to keep him because it would be to hard. He needed me then as he needs me today and if I had it to do over I would never have given them up and just made things work no matter how hard it was. Not every adoption works out for the best so why risk it, keep your children with you and do the best you can for them that is all any parent can do anyway.

She's the best thing that's happened to me.I was 20 when I got pregnant and I was living at my Parents..Im still living with them.her father were still together it will be 3 years on my birthday. It's hard because he lives with his parents to and sometime it feels like i'm doing it all alone. Because i have her 24-7 and it's a full time JOB- besides the one i work, and that's not even enough money to support her and to move out. But my parents are so understanding, it's there first grand baby and the joy of there lives. It's ok with them, because there teaching me everything i need to know. Since she's my first and only.. It's too expensive to have anymore..I had to learn the hard way. I played and now i'm paying. It's only right to take responsibilties for my actions. She's made me grow up so much and so quickly! It's all about her not me anymore. And I like my free time I had but seeing her smile makes me look at life differntly like I have a PURPOSE now. nd for anyone who has more..i have deep respect for all of you. havin a child takes away most of your free time, But it's so worth it in the long run! The only thing I can say is be the mom to your child, the way you wished your's was for you. Finsh school and don't let anymone tell you your too YOUNG! Because that's alot of BULL. Yes I wasn't ready but i'm making the best of it. and having a child can also put a bump in your relationship, but hang in and you'll do great! best wishes, to you and your family. one thing though, I know parents want to help out so much but don't let them run your life and your childs.
