Why Do Celebrities Make Sex Tapes?

Why do so many celebrities make sex tapes? Do they not think about how it may impact them later on? Seems it’s all the rage - everyone from Kim Kardashian to Kendra Wilkinson to Paris Hilton, and now even Heidi Montag. What’s your take?
Sex tapes are commonplace in the US – from small town America to the glitz of Hollywood. People love the attention and want to feel special. Throw a camera on yourself and suddenly you’re feel like a superstar, eh, porn star. The only difference between the couple next door and Paris Hilton is a few million dollars. Frankly the public has become desensitized to things once considered taboo. Let’s face it, if a president can come out of a sexual scandal unscathed, then surely a celebrity can put his or her sexual escapades out there for public consumption (and we buy it!).
So, as for the driving force…
- Actors and actresses are narcissistic and attention-seeking and might think “If I enjoy myself so much than surely the world will too.”
- Sex sells, therefore its good publicity. My most popular No More Drama advice columns are about sex; sexual scandals get huge media coverage; and Viagra is a huge seller. In some cases sex tapes have catapulted one's career. Seemed to work for Paris Hilton.
- Surprise! Young actors and actresses are impressionable and might lack confidence, thus use sex to advance their careers.
- Celebrities feel invincible and as though they’re impervious to societal backlash, as a result, there’s no consideration of consequences.
So the question is ... does a sex tape help a celebrity in terms of increasing their, uh, "exposure," or can a sex tape kill a career?
You gave me the comments on this one! I'm not even going to check the date! hahahaha!! Ok ok. I think if Heidi is in a tape I would think about her in ways so is that all it? I thought of her anyway once I saw her so is it the same?

i dont know why some couple doing this shit sex video.. especially celebrity one? they are not satisfied at all after that! So, disrespect! so stupid! are they taking drugs??? I dont know why their not value what they have.. Instead of doing this kind of shit, why they dont enjoy life..? Gone are the days of the elegant and glamorous 50's style when celebrities were sensual, sexual and innocent all at the same time, with class, dignity, humility and with real acting talents. Shame many of today's celebrities are a bunch of spoiled, attention-seeking, vain, classless, drug-addicted, over exposed fame-whores with not much talent to their name. Yeah, sad to say, young girls and women today don't have many good role models to look up to, if any...hence Hollywood trashes Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Heidi Montag, Britney Spears, etc. These people are nasty, deplorable and not worth anyone's attention. There are real people out there doing worthy things with their time and for the world who are more worthy of attention in my book.
Obviously, D list celebrities. They have too much time on their hands, no self-worth or self-respect. They do realize they are talentless and can never get serious acting roles. Celebrities should not be worshipped nor glamourized.
When you have no talent, this is what you do!!! You take your clothes off for the attention,what else can they do? Sing? Dance? What is their talent anyway???
I HAVE to agree with you! They probably do this cause they feel hot and sexy and want to show the world them well DOING IT hoping they world agree either that or have met some new mangers for a hot new film going out or for just for the hell of it!
