High School Musical 3 Tops Weekend Box Office

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Disney's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" was tops at the weekend's box office-earning an estimated $40 million, according to Variety.
"HSM3" set records for the best opening weekend ever for a musical and for the best opening by a live-action G-rated film. The film was also number one in nearly all of the major European markets.
The second spot went to "Saw V" with $30 million in ticket sales.
Mark Wahlberg's "Max Payne" fell to third place with $7.6 million. The video game adaptation has now made $29.7 million overall.
