LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears is nominated for a 2008 People's Choice Award this year for the Favorite Scene Stealing Guest Star, for her guest appearance in "How I Met Your Mother."
Spears played the role of Abby, a geeky receptionist, in two episodes earlier this year. Her appearance in a March episode helped the show get its highest ratings ever.
Spears is up against Luke Perry's and Robin Williams' performances on "Law And Order: SVU."
In other "How I Met Your Mother" news, "The Hills'" Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will appear on the sit-com in January. According to a statement released by CBS, they will play themselves - their characters "taunt and tease Marshall [Jason Segel's character] from the confines of his current copy of 'Them Weekly.'"
