The re-make of the 1951 cult classic starring Keanu Reeves brought in an estimated $31 million to take the top spot.

Second was the comedy "Four Christmases," starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn who play a couple struggling to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas, which earned an estimated $13.3 million.

The vampire romance "Twilight" continued to do well, earning another $8 million - good enough for third place - and brining its four-week gross over the $150 million mark.

Disney's animated "Bolt" and Nicole Kidman's "Australia" rounded out the top five.
