LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - ABC's "Good Morning America" wants Britney Spears to return to the program for a formal sit-down interview, according to the New York Daily News.
"Britney has a standing invitation to come back to ABC for an extended interview with Diane [Sawyer]," a spokeswoman for the show told the paper.
The paper reports Spears, who performed on "GMA" last week to launch her album "Circus," had initially been in negotiations with NBC's "Today" show but, according to an insider, the network passed after hearing all of Britney's "ridiculous" demands.
"Britney's people didn't want her interviewed," the paper reported a source as saying. "They also said there could be no close-up shots during the performance. Plus, Britney wanted to lip-sync. As a news program, you just don't agree to that."
