LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Clint Eastwood's "Grand Torino" took home the box office title in its first weekend of wide release.
Growing word of mouth and Oscar-buzz helped the film to bring in $30 million this weekend according to industry estimates.
It's the best opening weekend of Eastwood's long career.
The dueling bridezillias in "Bride Wars" came in second with $21.5 million, followed by the horror film "Th Unborn" with $21.1 million.
Marley & Me," the Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson's family dog tale that topped the box office the last two weekends, fell to fourth with $11.4 million for a three week total of $124 million.
