LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna won't know until Friday whether or not she's been given the go-ahead to adopt four-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James, according to the Associated Press.

Madonna appeared in court on Monday, staying for about an hour. There's been some concern from Malawian officials that Madonna's current lifestyle isn't the best environment for a young child, something the court will apparently take into consideration before making their decision.
