Zac Efron Eyes New Role

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Zac Efron, who announced he was dropping out of Paramount's planned "Footloose" remake, is reportedly in negotiations to star in the adaptation of the novel "The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud."
According to Variety, the film would re-team Efron with his "17 Again" director Burr Steers.
The novel tells the story of cemetery caretaker who has weekly meetings with a younger brother whose death he feels responsible for.
Production is set to begin this summer. Meantime, Paramount is reportedly looking at other actors to take on the lead role in "Footloose."
