The climate on our planet is effected by the sun, in recent years there have been a quieting of sun spots and we have experienced cooler temps. When the spots start up again we will get a little warmer. The earth has had several ice ages followed by warm period without any help from man. The globalwarming myth is based on carbon dioxide both man made and by nature which creates most of it. All plant life above and below the sea use carbon dioxied and expell oxogyn which sustains living animals.

Global warming is happening and there is proof and you can't say man is not to blame with all the pollution and emissions that are increasing heavily each year. To look the other way is plain ignorance. I would rather side with the planet and be wrong than side with the no sayers and find out it's true. The earth is suffering no doubt about and it certainly can't hurt to cut back on excess no matter what.

I am a scientist, a geologist actually, and I study the carbon cycle. Anyone who buys into "global warming", or even uses the phrase outside of criticizing it, is doing themselves and their country (USA) a world of hurt. I will drive around today and throw all my plastic in the trash and say "take that greenies". I use to love to recycle but now it's being politicized and used as a tool to charge Americans more tax and hike up electric bills. On the other hand there is no need to waste over produce energies for the sake of profiteering. Solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric are great idea and can ease our use of fossil fuels for cleaner air and water in the area in which we live.

as far as donald's comments, if anything, green technologies that lessen our dependence on foreign oil makes a lot of the spending worth it. you're right when you say follow the money - look @ all the profits made from loosening regs on oil company profits & basically lifting any clean air and water legislation got for the energy lobbies the past 8 years. why shouldn't companies trying to correct some of these environmental issues get windfalls of cash when the ones who do nothing but rape the earth's natural resources reap monster profits? fair's fair.
