LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna's bid to adopt a 3-year-old girl from Malawi has gotten even more complicated now that Mercy's father wants to block the adoption so that he can raise the child himself.
The 24-year-old father, who abandoned Mercy's mother when she became pregnant, now says he'd rather raise the child who has lived her entire life in an orphanage.
In an interview with the UK's Daily Mail, the father says he's trying to protect his daughter from "a life of scandal" with a woman he says is without "good morals."
"She is my daughter; she is my blood; she needs parental love," the father said of Mercy.
The father has written a letter asking that the court block Madonna's attempt to adopt the girl and return her to his custody.
Meantime, it's being reported that Madonna's ex-husband Guy Ritchie will be taking care of their son Rocco and their adopted son David for three months this summer while Madonna goes on tour.

The bio father sounds like a fool. He wasn't thinking about the child for what the last couple of years and now all of a sudden he has opinion on what would be best for the child. He should go someplace, sit down and shut up.
Her boys are lucky to have a positive male figure as a father who is there for them. Mercy needs all the love she can get and bless her father for wanting to give it to her. They need each other.
Wow. This guy has a lot of gall. After doinking an under-aged girl, abandoning her when she got pregnant, never inquiring about her child, and leaving her to live in an orphanage, he says Madonna is immoral and an unfit parent? Please, sir, look in the mirror, and stop proving what an idiot you are by opening your trap. It's called self-awareness and you have none.
This guy is embarrassingly stupid! You get a young girl pregnant, abandon her when she needs you the most and when a woman is ready to give your child everything it doesn't or would never have - now he wants to raise her himself. I would be very leary of his motives here. This sperm donor says Madonna is not moral - well what about his sleeping with an underage girl and abandoning her........answere that Mercy's sperm donor.
If those of you that choose to judge would bother to check out the full story that has been verified by the mothers relatives. He was run out of town when she was discovered to be pregnant (unwed pregnancy is a big deal there unlike our country). He and the mother were in love also verified by family and friends. He was later told that the baby died at birth with the mother by his family and the mothers family. He has never returned to the village and struck out on his own. He only was made aware that his daughter was still alive when Madonna tried to adopt her. It is a blessing that he found her and is able to be a part of her life. I agee with him that Madonna does not have the morals to raise any children..and doesn't. She leaves it up to others to do it. She has tried to corrupt our children for years. Money cannot buy you everything and it definately should not be able to buy you children.
Ok so the first part of the story about the father if it is true bravo for him wanting to raise the kid now. As far as Madonna is concerned I have read she is a great mother to her children. Madonna is a mother first and very strict with her kids. But I don't believe when one becomes a mother that they also become nuns. Yes, she has alot of money and but she is a great mother. Her kids don't look deprived of anything and I believe so what that her marriage went under but her kids look pretty healthy to me.. Rich people do have there problems too. Who am I to judge her. I hope whatever they choose it was meant to be.
If the story is true, then of course he should get his child. if the story is false then i guess Madonna will get her, even though, I cant stand the woman and often wondered why she's strict with her children about things when she spent years poisoning the minds of kids with her disgusting music videos and her performances while on stage....sorta of always seemed hypocritical to me...
