LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The son of actors Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal will avoid further jail time if he completes a year-long drug rehabilitation program.
Redmond O'Neal, 24, has been arrested several times in the past year for possession of heroin, methamphetamines and driving under the influence.
In April, Redmond was arrested after attempting to bring drugs into a jail facility north of Los Angeles.
Currently, Fawcett is suffering from cancer and the rehabilitation program will allow O'Neal to spend time with his gravely ill mother.
If O'Neal drops out of the program or tests positive for drugs, he will be sent back to jail.
