Justin Timberlake May Take Over Jackson's London Concert Dates
Posted on Fri Jun 26, 2009 09:25 AM PDT

timberlakeJackson200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Justin Timberlake is reportedly considering performing at London's O2 arena for fans who had purchased tickets for Michael Jackson's upcoming concerts, according to the UK's The Sun.

"Right now he's still in shock but already there is a big feeling that he and maybe some others in the entertainment industry should do something to show their admiration for Michael and his music," the paper quotes a source close to Timberlake.

Jackson had been scheduled to perform as many as 50 concerts over the next few months.

"Michael was working so hard to make his comeback in London work so it would be fitting if Justin an some of his friends fulfilled at least some of that commitment in some small way."

JT is so awesome

No offense, but as a ticketholder, you're wanting to see Michael Jackson and you get...Justin Timberlake. Oh great, thanks a lot. Seriously no comparison.

to all his "Apprenticeses" that made it to the top, couldn't they afford to fulfill these dates record this and make another fortune. I know he was in serious debt, I hope he still had good Ins. for his kids

Why be so negative? I think it would be great if Justin and others in the industry such as Madonna, Sheryl Crow, etc. Dozens of big name singers in the music industry could collaborate to give MJ's fans a great tribute. They could all share the load of the 50 concerts, do their own music as well as covers for MJ songs....that would be something the fans could appreciate. It would be like an extended memorial for Michael. A lot of these singers were inspired by MJ in the first place. It could be almost another "We Are The World" Part 2 but instead LIVE. This would be a good thing. It would be better than NOTHING! Plus, Michael would have really appreciated it. He never wanted to disappoint his fans.

They could do both and give people a choice... keep the ticket, attend the tribute by MJ's friends in the industry and be happy or refund the tickets if this isn't something they want to attend for their pound. It would make the refunding easier, I would think, as well as leave a little something for his estate so that his children actually get something besides a ton of debt.

I'm not a huge fan of JT because I met him once and found him to be extremely self-centered and arrogant but I do think this is a neat thing for him to consider doing and along with others such as Madonna, it could make for a fitting tribute.

I think this would be so wonderful! No it's nothing compared to seeing Michael in concert. We all know nothing is compared to that. However it would be a really sweet way to honor him. If big names came out and were willing to be a part of the show that would show how much they cared and loved him too. People are hurting all over the world including myself and if I could go to a concert in memory of MJ I would. RIP Michael Jackson. We miss you!

Yeah .... cause everything the sun says is true.

I think it would be a great tribute to him but the right people need to be selected to do this. if the proceeds go to his children, I think that would be wonderful

If it's done right it could be one of the best tributes and concerts in a long time. He had friends - Timberlake, Madonna, Diana Ross, Elizabeth Taylor even though she doesn't sing but could have money and influence on this, his own family of singers, no one's heard word 1 from Janet yet???? Wish it could have been the US he was coming back through - I was born only 6 mos before he was and literally grew up with him and the early records, partied to the stuff he did in my 20s, and watched what went on from there. I don't and never will believe he molested any little kid. He WAS a little kid - with a great voice and too fragile to stay in this world.

Sounds great, But honeslty There is noooo comparison. I do love Justin and he is a great performer but Michael can not be replaced. His death has ended an iconic era no one performer or group of perfomers can even compare to his greatness.. As a music lover I just can't deal with the loss of Michael It is still so Surreal!!!! Love and miss you Michael!! Diane (NYC)

I think that this is really great, and if it will benefit his children that is what really matters now,Leaving them a part of the king, But most of all their FATHER!! I SAY GO FOR IT. After all "That What Friends Are For"..Rest In Peace. GOB BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Forever your Fan!!! J(SC)

I think JT and many others would put on a great tribute show, and who says it has to only be in the UK, they could extend the tribute and make it a World tribute tour, that would make them all wealthy, clear any of MJ's debts that his insurance does not and leave a large amount to his kids...MJ you will be missed. My sincerest condolences to the family.

To all those who disrespect, you should be ashamed you sick people ! Perez, you in particular, I hope you drop sooner rather than later, you sick, demented piece of trash !!!

Justin Timberlake? LOL what a joke! There's no comparison to Michael! Michael's death is unbelieveable, horrible.

It's NOT about comparing JT to Michael! It's about a TRIBUTE to Michael and I'm sure that many besides JT want to do something really nice for the fans that already paid for a concert to see Michael. It would be a chance for the fans and the singers to pay their respects since most would be unable to attend his funeral. The funeral will probably be private anyway. btw...Just heard on my local news that Michael's music is flying off the shelves. Most stores have sold out of everything and have backorders.

I guess that's one way for a no name celebrity to try to get some publicity.

jUSTIN tIMBERLAKE IS AWSOME FOR THINKING OF THE IDEA AND IT WOULD BE A GREAT WAY TO HONOR MICHAEL.

Posted by: Billie Jean Is Not My Problem

Justin Timberpuddle couldn't carry Michael Jackson's uh... well, let's just say he couldn't carry Michael's Set list! Timberpuddle can't really SING as much as he POSES his way through a song. Can he hold a note with the kind of Vibrato Jackson had? With the kind of clarity? Not the "Is THIS OK Mommy" nasaly tone that JT does. There's no comparison. Having Timberpuddle singing Michael Jackson would be like having Boy George singing Ozzy Osborne. PUH-LEEZE!

Many artists have been influenced by Michael Jackson. What better tribute then for any of them to come together to honor his memory. Let's not be callous! Justin Timberlake was obviously influenced by Mr. Jackson.

Ridiculous.

I like some JT, but c'mon. JT's career was built ripping off MJ's style, vocals, and moves.

What a sham.

Posted by: Anonymous

Why is everyone comparing JT to MJ? JT is not trying to be MJ, he is only trying to help!!

Posted by: Anonymous

I know......really! Yeah, not everyone likes JT! Fine. Good. Whatever! That was so not the point of this. JT was never trying to have himself compared. It wasn't even going to be solely focused on JT anyway! This will end up being a collaboration of many performers. So, I imagine there will be PLENTY of stars that are liked and not liked. Heck, I just read tonight that Madonna had ALREADY BEEN PLANNING to make a guest appearance during the London tour dates alongside Michael. You can't please everyone and there is ALWAYS someone that picks apart someone's good intentions and finds something to gripe out. Give it a rest already!

how does anyone know that his kids are broke? doesnt the jackson family have enough money between them to raise three kids? they did a "great" jobs with all the kids they had the first round without much money. while he made good music that rep needs to be balanced by his perversions. that should bring his legacy close to zero.

Posted by: Anonymous

I know.. They could get some priests for the show, and everybody could send their kids back stage....

Chris Brown or Usher should take MJ place in London.Because they have his dance moves to the T.They can sing and also are great performers.

Posted by: habador

You can't believe the sun newspaper on very much anything they print.

Posted by: Tracy

I think that shows a lot of class. It will be a wonderful tribute to Michael. JT is the best and has a wonderful heart to want to do that.
He may not be MJ, but his heart is definitely in the right place.

Posted by: Joey Ballbag

Justin Timberfake should go to vegas and be a MJ impersonator. Worked for Elvis.

Posted by: Anonymous

I have adored MJ since i was a little girl. For his childrens and families sake, We should all remember him for the wonderful performer he was and let God judge him like Hes going to judge all of us.

Posted by: posted Anonymous

I think that J.T would be good at the performance in london. C.B @ USHER WELL do aswell also so stop comparing.

MICHAEL great talent sorty i am not having money back God bless we shall meet again

Posted by: realitycheck

JT is such an ARSE. It is WAY too soon to start superimposing yourself as the new MJ. JT's entire career is a TWO DIMENSIONAL RIP OFF of MJ...of course he is trying to get personal gain off of this for all you naive people who think it's just an altruistic gesture...please, Michael is barely COLD and JT is already plotting and planning?! THIS BETTER BE A STUPID RUMOR!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous

i think Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston should take the same stage!

Posted by: kiwigal

Hi y'all, a sad time across the world for the greatest icon of all time. RIP, MJ.

Aint nobody can do it like MJ unless you bring back the Jackson 5 and Janet!!
If only....

Posted by: Kenneth J. De Motte

JT i think you should do it, it will be of great respect to MJ, also i think that we will never have a Great guy like MJ, Please do it.
