LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's former manger says the family was bitterly divided over what kind of funeral should be held for the pop star.
According to Dr Tohme Tohme, Jackson's brothers wanted an extravagant open-casket funeral, with his body driven thru the streets so fans could throw flowers at the hearse, like the did during the funeral of Princess Diana.
However, Jackson's mother Katherine reportedly overruled them, opting for a more subdued tribute, because she feared an open casket would be too upsetting for Jackson's three children.
There was also disagreement over the final resting place.
"His brothers wanted the final resting place to be Neverland but the rest of the family didn’t want him there for some reason that’s not known to me," Tohme told The Mail on Sunday.
"I tried with some members of the family to provide Neverland as his resting place and to turn it into something. I believe Michael Jackson deserved to be in Neverland – a grand place like Neverland," Tohme said.
"He is the King of Pop and I think we will not see anyone like him in our lifetime."

I think the family should of had him in his casket and rode down the streets of California, The fans, those whom are at home, would of loved to of just seen the casket, to say goodbye. He was a people entertainer, why not give him that last performance, to the fans.
I think Michael should be buried at Neverland, He loved that place.
Who care?? Just bury him so we can move on to more important issues facing us all these days.
I think Mr. Jackson's death should not be profited from, and should not incur any expenses to be paid by the taxpayers. Furthermore I think that we all know that Jackson does not want a single penny of his fortune to go to his father who beat him physically and emotionally.
You're definitely right Linda. The world has a lot bigger issues than if Michael Jackson is going to have an open casket funeral, and where he's going to be buried.
what a shock that al sharpton has his nose in the middle of this jackson family charade
At the end of the day MG was just a man, son, brother, father, friend. He was loved but maybe he didn't feel it. You can be in a room full of people and still be alone. If you don't have a "ticket" do the right thing and don't go. Morbid fools.
You know i don't see how some can be so inconsiderate at a time like this. I think that if you care about the issue at hand keep your fingers off the keyboard and keep your rude thoughts to yourself. Because of MJ alot of people based there careers around him, whether it be a dancer, choriagrapher, or just a damn good memory of something that man has done through out our lives. He deserves the respect that he is getting. He has earned every bit of it.
