I think anyone who really believes that Joe Jackson abused his son do not understand the dynamics of a black man from Gary, In raising 9 kids in the late 60's. Not only was strong & strict discipline part of the black family's ways - it kept MJ and his brothers off the streets - Had they all been drug dealers or users, robbers or killers they would have just been another black statistic but because he led them into fame - the "professionals" would like to say he abused them - news flash ask almost every black child reared during that time or before and you will find that most of us were "abused" if that's what it's called today - Give this man credit where it is due - he led his family to motown and led them out which gave michael an opportunity to go solo. You might not like the way he did it but it is so obvious it wasn't for selfish reasons and he's the reason why Michael became who he is. Joe Jackson was a strict father, yes indeed buthe was strict cos hedoesnt want his children ending up on the streets & his stricy guidance on his children namely his sons made them the legnds that they are today.
