Coroner Says Jackson's Cause Of Death Is "Acute Propofol Intoxication"
Posted on Fri Aug 28, 2009 10:17 AM PDT

jackoauto200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Los Angeles County Coroner's office has released the cause of Michael Jackson's death, and they say that the king of pop suffered "acute Propofol intoxication." The report also states that other conditions contributing to death included the use of Benzodiazepines, a group of drugs taken to treat anxiety and insomnia.

It should come as no surprise that the manner of death was ruled as a homicide, and though the coroner did not release the full autopsy report, they did issue a press release:

"The drugs Propofol and Lorazepam were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson's death. Other drugs detected were: Midazolam, Diazepam, Lidocaine and Ephedrine."

The question the media should be asking is: "What in the heck did the good doctor have Micheal hopped up on during the day so that he needed an Anesthesioloist to put him to sleep at night?"

How did any doctor think it was okay to mix that many benzo's (Valium, Ativan, Versed...) with the propofol? You would think at this point, it would be established which of them worked / worked well for Jackson, and that the dose of that single agent could have been increased, instead of mixing drugs known to have an additive and synergistic effect. That, and any time I've been 'under' for surgery - it was required that one person's sole job be to monitor my breathing / O2 saturation.... there's never a time when they leave you on your own to go to the bathroom, for a reason. I'd say homicide is a justified charge for the Dr. who did this. He had the knowledge to know his actions could be lethal, and the depraved indifference to leave his patient alone after performing them.

The "doctor" was a non board certified cardiologist, not an anesthesiologist. Jackson's physician was not trained in the administration of anesthesia.
