Angelina Jolie Fired From St. John, Not "Modern," "Clean" Enough

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Angelina Jolie has lost her long-standing job as the face of fashion brand St. John, because she's too tainted by her fame!
“[Jolie] overshadowed the brand,” chief executive officer Glenn McMahon told WWD. “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.” Does that mean Angie is dirty?
The company decided to hire model Karen Elson (who, incidentally, is married to White Stripes singer Jack White), saying, "We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John." Ooohh, snap, Angie, they called you old-fashioned! “We have evolved,” he added.

jolie is not "clean", not modern, and is getting too old to be a "model" of anything but immoral, door swinging self centered, Hollywood fluff.
Who says Angelina was even available anymore for St. John's to call on when their sales went bad? The assumption from this press release (generated by St. John's) is that they made a change. It is just as likely that AJ decided not to do any more commercial work. After all she was pregnant with her 5th and 6th child when she shot her last ads for St. John's in 12/07. If she didn't know yet she was having twins she sure knew she was pregnant, or trying to conceive. She also didn't renew her contract to do ads for Shiseido in Japan and she dropped her commercial agent.

I am a little vague on exactly who Angelina Jolie is ! From seeing here, you'd think she is the biggest thing in the freaking world !
Duh Angelina finished her contract w/ Saint John in 2008 and they (SJ) got the model named , why is the CEO bringing up her name now? Angelina was replaced by Agnes
St. John was right to dump Jolie - she looks like an old, used, dirty whore with all those tats. Besides all the cosmetic surgery she isn't real or down to earth, and as a husband-stealing home wrecker she taints St. John.
What a lot of companies need to do right now is to have the all-American 'girl next door' type. Not the painted, after-factory-add-on ho types.
Angelina is very beautiful and I thought
she was a great "face" for St. John.
Personally, I do not like their clothes
so her being the "face" did not make any

Anonymous, you obviously have never worn their clothes - they are chic, timeless and classic. It's not uncommon to have pieces 20 years old and still modern and up to date. They travel well, don't wrinkle and are so comfortable. As for Jolie, anyone who buys St. John isn't influenced by the "face" they buy for the reputation of the product.
The whole Jolie-Pitt crew looks dirty and unkempt of late. Are they trying to look like the "earthy" family?
