LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Angelina Jolie flew to the Dominican Republic yesterday to visit with earthquake victims and meet with Dominican President Leonel Fernandez, and she is expected to travel to Haiti today.

Both Angelina and partner Brad Pitt have donated $1 million to relief efforts in Haiti, so not only is she putting her money where her mouth is, but she's taking a hands on approach and lending her fame to a good cause.

The actress previously released the following statement regarding the situation in the region, "It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades."
