valentineposter.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Moviegoers fell in love with Valentine's Day over the President's Day weekend to the tune of $66.9 million.

The 4-day box office gross for the ensemble film shattered previous records making it the all-time highest grossing movie released over the holiday weekend. Sony's Ghost Rider, released back in 2007, previously held the record with $52 million.

20th Century Fox's Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief and Universal's The Wolfman starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins rounded out the biggest money-making President's Day weekend ever totaling $238 million. Percy brought in an estimated $38.8 million, while Wolfman scared up $36.5 million.

On Sunday alone, Valentine's Day brought in an astonishing $23.5 million, scoring yet another record as the highest grossing Valentine's Day release of all-time. The record was previously held by Sony's 50 First Dates back in 2004, which earned $19.8 million.
