LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) - American Idol continues to whittle away at the contestants on the hit FOX show. The guys and girls have now been narrowed down to the top twelve Idol hopefuls.
According to the judges, many of the performances have been less than stellar this season which has made it difficult to select which singers stand out.
Last night Idol said goodbye to Katelyn Epperly, Todrick Hall, Alex Lambert and Lilly Scott.
Next week, the surviving contestants will battle it out with Rolling Stones songs.
Contestant Crystal Bowersox continues to be the frontrunner.

I totally agree. Alex Lambert was one of my favorite guys this year. I loved the sound of his voice and the purity and innocence of his performances.
