Leno Beats Letterman In Ratings
Posted on Tue Mar 2, 2010 02:20 PM PDT

lenopic200.jpgLOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (X17online) - Conan O'Brien, who? Now that Jay Leno is back, the peacock network seems to have forgotten about the short-lived host that held the hosting spot up until just recently.

The Tonight Show trounced David Letterman in the ratings, scoring a 5.7 share to Letterman's 3.0.

During Jay's first show last night, Tonight Show regulars Kevin Eubanks, Ross the Intern and John Melendez all hammed it up in front of the live studio audience.

As Leno opened the show, he said to the crowd: "Thank you very much! It's good to be home. I'm Jay Leno, your host...at least for a while."

The audience roared when he talked about his nerves. "I'll admit I'm a little bit nervous. Not because it's my first night back, but because I know Dave and Oprah are watching."

With champagne in hand, first guest Jamie Foxx got the crowd going. We'll see if Jay can keep up the momentum.

This is another reason why I am losing faith in this country.

Welcome back Jay. Bring back Monday-nite headlines & jay walking

Good Luck Jay, You're the best!!
Conan & Letterman do nothing for me. You have what it takes. All the best!

I vote Jay Leno for President! Dave is lame and weak. He cannot shine Jay's shoes. Good to have you back Jay! Keep it up!

Love the Jay comedy, welcome back! Was getting bored as I will not watch the Letterman show or the other late night shows as they lack real comedy and class. Well done.

Letterman is nothing but a bitter, angry old man. Nothing funny about him any more. Leno rules!

Did not Conan beat Letterman for his first few nights/weeks. Leno should have road off into the sunset and let Conan get the same 2 year grace period he got when he took over the Tonight Show. I know he is trying to pass the buck to NBC but this was all about his ego.

NBC is also bringing back The Rockford Files. A network with virtually no new ideas.

You need to check-out the new show on NBC, Parenthood, if you don't think NBC has any "new ideas." Watched it last night and I think it's going to be a great show!

Leno is great for all the dolts out there that like simple comedy and ripped off bits.

Leno is a clean host....Letterman has become just too bitter and off-color...he is a has-been that should have gone off the air after the intern mess.........

Letterman is not funny and I never watch any more. I will watch Jay nightly. Letterman is CREAPY, old beyond his years. Can't believe his staff would have sex with him, he is so ugly.

wish letterman would kept his tongue inside his mouth and stop sucking his teeth.was sexy
back in the 60's

Ok, lots of Leno fans here. That would explain the idiotic, lame, borderline moronic comments on here. Jaywalking, so classy of him to laugh and treat his viewers like idiots. Jimmy Kimmel slammed him so bad, and the "comedian" Leno just sulks. Cries to Oprah, what a bitch.

I thought Leno said he was retiring because he promised his wife he would. He should have gone home and stayed.
